This is an enriching growth opportunity within the US Globals P&C Market Unit for a junior VP. The successful candidate will be leading the local C-suite, Ceded Re and Business Unit Head relationships & portfolio for two US-based entities (Globalinos) of key global client relationship, Mitsui and QBE. In addition, this role will support, shadow and work closely with the other Global Key Account Managers, in developing and steering global business relationships & portfolio. This individual will also lead special projects for the MU.

You will be the voice of the client, a catalyst for sales excellence and execute on the overall strategy set forth by the Client Leadership Team for each client relationship. We will enable you to use your experience, skills & capabilities and help you unlock your potential.

The main tasks and activities of this role comprise the following:

  • Assumes P&L responsibility and accountability for assigned client relationships, including planning / budgeting, annual Plan delivery and actual portfolio performance
  • Effectively leads deal & cross functional teams for assigned client relationships and cessions to Swiss Re
  • Ensures top quality origination and execution of core renewals, transaction opportunities and delivery of solutions to the assigned client relationships
  • Support and shadow Global Key Account Managers in management of business relationships and overall portfolios across all P&C lines of business and functions, with a focus on North America
  • Understanding client motivation, needs, priorities as well as risk & capital drivers (Really Know Your Client – RKYC); and aligns those with SR’s deliverables to develop win-win solutions which leverage the full range of SR capabilities
  • Development of local engagement plan and implementation in conjunction with broader Client Leadership Team
  • Lead special projects for the MU
  • Develop and maintain relevant professional network, both internally and externally

Professional Experience

  • 5+ years experience in a complex international insurance / reinsurance business
  • Strong understanding of market dynamics and trends, plus re/insurance products and evolving client needs
  • Working knowledge of insurance corporate finance drivers
  • Experience in building productive and collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders on senior management level
  • Experience in managing medium scale initiatives /projects in the reinsurance environment
  • You are confident in crafting and maintaining positive, trustful and constructive relationships, both across the organization and with external partners
  • You have experience with strategic vision, plus you are building business acumen and result orientation
  • You can think out of the box, roll your sleeves up and are not afraid to take charge of a situation
  • You are comfortable in leading medium to large-scale initiatives/projects in the reinsurance environment and working in a multi-cultural environment, embracing diversity of thought to get the best win-win outcomes
  • You are an active listener, consultative seller, and strong negotiator
  • You are curious, focused, determined and can thrive in high-pressure situations
  • You foster a culture of receiving and giving feedback in the spirit of continuous improvement

For Armonk, NY and New York, NY, the estimated base salary range for this position is $143,000 to $256,000. The specific salary offered for this, or any given role will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to job location, scope of role, qualifications, complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent, experience, education, and employer budget. At Swiss Re, we take a "total compensation approach" when making compensation decisions. This means that we consider all components of compensation in their totality (such as base pay, short-and long-term incentives, and benefits offered), in setting individual compensation.

Our company has a hybrid work model where the expectation is that you will be in the office two to three days per week on average.
