A Glimpse of the Job:
The Chief Executive Officer, George & Barbara Bush Foundation manages the operations of the Foundation and raises funds to maintain the Foundation’s endowment and to cover operational expenses. Provides strategic planning for the George & Barbara Bush Foundation and executes planned educational, cultural and policy activities consistent with the mission of the Foundation and the Bush Presidential Center at Texas A&M. Maintains community outreach to keep the George & Barbara Bush Foundation an integral part of the Bryan/College Station area. Provides financial and operational support, as directed by the Foundation’s Board of Directors, to the George Bush School of Government & Public Service and the George H.W. Bush Presidential Library & Museum. Manages the relationship with Texas A&M University under the various agreements between the University and the Foundation. Executes such other tasks as may be directed by the Foundation’s board.

Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ten years of combined experience in direction and management of a foundation or private sector organization, or in a senior level position in the military or government service.
Five or more years’ combined experience in financial management, fundraising, community outreach, and development of educational, cultural, and policy-oriented programs.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to creatively design and implement new programs.
Demonstrated leadership ability.
Ability to work effectively under pressure.
Ability to accomplish objectives through the development and utilization of human resources.
Preferred Qualifications:
Twelve years of combined experience in direction and management of a foundation or private sector organization.
Ten years of senior level experience in the military or government service.
Experience with fundraising and donor relations.
Experience with managing educational or public policy programs
Essential Duties/Tasks
George & Barbara Bush Foundation Fundraising - Raises funds to maintain the George & Barbara Bush Foundation endowment and operational expenses. Maintains close contacts and works directly with Texas A&M leadership and officials to maintain the Bush Foundation and its programs.
Strategic Planning - Provides strategic planning for the various components of the George & Barbara Bush Foundation and executes planned activities under direction of the Foundation’s board. Creates and maintains various educational, cultural, and policy-oriented programs through the Bush Foundation.
Community Outreach - Maintains community outreach to keep the George & Barbara Bush Foundation an integral part of Bryan/College Station.
Financial & Operational Support - Provides financial and operational support, as directed by the Foundation’s Board of Directors, to the George Bush School of Government & Public Service, and the Presidential Library & Museum.
Other Requirements and Factors:
Must be able to work outside of normal business hours.
Must work weekends and holidays as required.
Must be able to travel within and outside of the State of Texas on a regular basis.
Must be able to move or live in Bryan/College Station, TX.
