Dematic has a need for a Senior Solution Design Engineer. The successful candidate will have relevant experience with designing and applying large scale material handling solutions. This includes leading design teams and managing MHE projects. The successful candidate will have a working knowledge of mechanical design, machine controls, warehouse control software, and/or customer operations.

The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $140,000 - $190,000 at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.

Tasks and Qualifications:

What You Will do in This Role:

1. The Senior Solution Design Engineer (Project Engineer) on the Key Accounts team is responsible for overseeing the engineering efforts and estimation of large and complex MHE solutions.
2. This team member manages the definition of solution requirements, supports customer layout reviews, generates/directs the development of solution design, supports concepting efforts, and generates system cost estimations using department tools/processes.
3. This role will lead, schedule, plan, and manage all the technical activities with attention to project accuracy and quality.
4. Review requirements from customer/sales team and closely collaborate with relevant internal/external stakeholders to generate executable system concepts.
5. Lead team members, create 3D models, and generate proposal drawings to achieve concept freeze.
6. Review systems design generated by junior engineers, identify opportunities for improvement, and provide constructive feedback.
7. Identify alternate design solutions and collaborate with internal stakeholders for potential proposal consideration.
8. Produce material lists and project scope of work summaries.
9. Submit quote requests and validate vendor quotes in conjunction with procurement teams.
10. Collaborate with vendors to identify design concepts and opportunities.
11. Define and apply standard subsystems, designs, and modules to solutions where appropriate.
12. Identify relevant project risks and assist with generation of mitigation strategies.
13. Lead technical reviews and pricing reviews.
14. Create cost breakouts and bridging as required.
15. Capable of recognizing and understanding when to apply standard subsystems and modules.
16. Able to apply value engineering principles to optimize the effectiveness of the system where possible.
17. Accountable for technical, cost, and contracting aspects of projects and serves as a key contact for intra-company departments and vendors.
18. Thoroughly understand customer RFPs, specifications, and requirements.
19. Ensure compliance of SD project process.
