What You’ll Do

As a Department Manager, you will own a department, focusing on maximizing its sales, inventory, and standards. Department Managers impact the business daily by:
  1. Managing inventory and moving product in accordance with customer demand.
  2. Reviewing and managing planograms and period layouts.
  3. Being commercial by knowing what is trending and ordering merchandise daily to drive sales.
  4. Monitoring the local market to maintain a competitive advantage in price, product, and shopping experience.
  5. Using data to gain full knowledge of your department’s performance to drive sales and meet targets.
  6. Managing stock file accuracy for your department.

As the leader of your department, you will hire, train, coach, and motivate a team of Sales Associates and Team Leaders to ensure your department delivers an exceptional shopping experience for every customer and a positive work environment for every colleague.

What You’ll Bring

To be successful in this role, you will have at least 2 years of retail leadership experience in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and demonstrate strong commercial acumen. Our Department Managers typically join us with retail experience as either a Store Manager, Assistant Store Manager, or Department Manager.
  1. Nimble and adaptable, able to flex your plans and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  2. Strong communication skills and the ability to relate to customer needs.
  3. A role model who can lead, motivate, and inspire the team.
  4. Resilient with a proven ability to lead a team and confident in giving constructive feedback.
  5. Commercially aware with an understanding of local market and key competitors.
  6. Good planning and organizational skills, prioritizing and working within agreed timescales.
  7. Experience supporting store management with the protection of people, property, and premises.
  8. Ability to effectively manage difficult situations and have good problem-solving skills.
  9. Effective communication skills in English, both orally and in writing, with managers, supervisors, and hourly colleagues.
  10. Able to provide excellent customer service in English.

The pay range for this role is: $63,000 - $77,000.
