Job Requirements / Description

SoftInWay Inc. is recruiting an innovative IT Specialist (former military background preferred). This individual will help with company IT-related aspects accounting for cybersecurity best practices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Overseeing software, mainframes, VPNs, routers, and other physical hardware and regular maintenance making sure all firmware and software packages are up to date.
  2. Manage network servers and technology tools.
  3. Provide general IT support to SoftInWay’s staff and, when needed, diagnose and troubleshoot computer and network issues.
  4. Install and update company software and hardware as needed.
  5. Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment.
  6. Help with onboarding and offboarding of employees, including installation of all new technology for the company or new hires (e.g., computer operating systems, software programs, and applications).
  7. Implement and maintain an asset management system through data entry, keeping it up to date for all assets and services through their life cycle.
  8. Work with vendors and staff to complete a variety of IT security implementation and maintenance tasks.
  9. Ensure data backup and recovery processes are in place.
  10. Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies.

Required Skill Set:

  1. College-level coursework in computer science, information technology, or related field
  2. Proven experience as an IT Specialist or similar role.
  3. Strong knowledge of IT systems, networks, and hardware.
  4. Proven experience with various operating systems and databases.
  5. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  7. Proven experience in setting up MS Azure, MS Office 365, AWS, and Active Directory accounting for cybersecurity standards
  8. Experience working in NIST SP 800-53 or NIST SP 800-171 compliant network environments

The Following Skills are a Plus:

  1. Cyber security certification and/or training
  2. Experience managing IT projects from the planning phase to the implementation

Experience:

  1. Former Military
  2. IT support in cyber security compliant environments: 3 years
