Sales Director, Environmental (APAC)

About the role:

Picarro is expanding our Asia-Pacific (APAC) Environmental Sales Team to meet our growth needs, and is looking for a seasoned, high-energy, and driven Director of Sales for APAC (India, Korea, Japan, Thailand, Singapore, Australia, and other countries in the region except for China). The ideal candidate will have strong experience managing channel partners focused on instrumentation and highly technical value-driven sales. You will be responsible for the direction and management of all sales and business development in the APAC region, including managing salespeople, application scientists, and the partner network. The Director of Sales will drive the company’s achievement of its sales volume as well as revenue goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the strategy and execution for sales in the APAC region, reporting to the worldwide Director of Sales and Marketing.
  • This is initially an individual contributor role, which will grow to manage people (sales, application scientists) as the region becomes successful. An ideal candidate should have people management experience but will also be able to sell and support partners.
  • Manage a large partner and reseller network, benchmarking existing partners, holding partners accountable, and bringing on new partners to grow Picarro business.
  • As a player-coach, work directly with customers and your sales team to achieve APAC revenue goals and guide channel partners.
  • Manage customer expectations and contribute to a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Provide detailed and accurate sales forecasting.
  • Monitor customer, market, and competitor activity and provide feedback to company leadership team and other company functions such as marketing and engineering.
  • Manage key customer relationships and participate in closing strategic opportunities.
  • Travel for in-person meetings with customers and partners to develop key relationships.

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree and at least 10 years technical sales experience. Management experience preferred. MBA preferred but not required.
  • Strong abilities as a coach and leader to provide direction and guidance.
  • Strong understanding of sales process and working with a CRM (SalesForce, Dynamics, NetSuite).
  • “Start-up” mentality and keen on working in a small, yet growing environment.
  • Outstanding consultative selling abilities and excellent interpersonal skills with executive level customers and partners.
  • Keen understanding and appreciation of selling to large enterprise customers with traditionally long sales cycles.
  • Experience in key markets a plus (Academia, Government Research Labs, Private Research Labs, Test and Measurement, Instrumentation).
  • Selling hybrid (hardware and software) products a plus.
  • Willingness to travel as needed (>50%).
  • Must be located in the region of APAC. Primary locations include India, Singapore, and Korea, but anywhere in the region is acceptable.
  • Must be fluent in English to communicate with company headquarters.
  • Must be legally able to travel to the United States to company headquarters.

Salary & Benefits:

The base salary range for this full-time position is $175 - $190. Your base salary range and title will be determined based on the location, experience, qualification, skills, knowledge, level, and pay of employees in similar positions.
