About Our Job
Denver's Department of Transportation and Infrastructure (DOTI) enhances the quality of life in Denver by delivering effective, high quality, safe, and equitable public infrastructure and services. This includes transportation planning, design and construction, maintenance of streets, bridges, and sewers, and oversight of the public right-of-way.

The Senior Engineer position is within the Development Engineering Services Transportation Section of the ROWS division. This role will ensure land development projects meet or exceed the City’s transportation requirements resulting in high quality and safe infrastructure development in the City Right of Way.

As a Senior Engineer with the Transportation Team, you will be expected to:

  1. Perform professional engineering work on large and complex private development projects, including reviewing construction plans for compliance and providing technical guidance.
  2. Apply City and DOTI rules, standards, and policies in the review of engineering plans and specifications.
  3. Coordinate with stakeholders including design consultants, contractors, and city agencies.
  4. Meet with applicants and city staff to resolve plan review comments and provide guidance.
  5. Monitor the ROWS review process and provide strong customer service.
  6. Perform field reviews to assure compliance with approved plans and regulations.
  7. Lead and support less experienced team staff towards department and division goals.

Requirements (Education, Level of Experience, etc.)
About You
Our ideal candidate will have:

  1. Understanding of principles and practices of Transportation and Utility engineering with experience in design, review, and inspection.
  2. Municipal engineering experience managing stakeholders and public engagement activities.
  3. Knowledge of multi-modal transportation and roadway design.
  4. Strong communication and customer service skills.
  5. Proficiency with technologies such as MS Teams, Office 365, Adobe Suite, AutoCAD, and GIS.

We require the following minimum qualifications:
  1. Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
  2. Experience: Three (3) years of professional engineering work experience after obtaining a Professional Engineering (PE) license.
  3. Licensures/Certification(s): Valid Driver's License and registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in Colorado.

Equivalency: No substitution of experience for education is permitted. Additional appropriate education may be substituted for experience requirements.#J-18808-Ljbffr
