Seis is banking built for the 44 million native Spanish speakers living in the US.
We treat Spanish speakers as first class citizens & are ending dial 2 for español.
Our mission is to build the most delightful, full-service banking experience for anyone who wants to bank in their native Spanish. Our goal is to make such an amazing banking experience that people will wish they spoke Spanish so they could bank with us.

This is an incredible opportunity to offer credit to people who are just beginning to build their new lives in America. Our customers are typically very good underwriting risks but cannot yet be underwritten by the financial infrastructure of American banks. Your job is to use our proprietary data to underwrite more of our customers within the risk appetite of our business.
As our Head of Credit, you'll be leading all things underwriting for our latest flagship product: the Seis Silver Credit Card. You'll manage & continue to build our credit policy, portfolio management processes, loss forecast, and overall credit processes for this product.
You will help shape this new product designed to build our customers' credit while also extending unsecured lines to as many underwriteable customers as possible. You will work with our Data, Compliance, Product, and Engineering teams to continue building our underwriting infrastructure that allows us to uniquely underwrite our customers using our proprietary data while also hitting our credit return goals
What You'll Do
Continue building upon our underwriting infrastructure & be the owner of all credit underwriting
Assess & decide whether to create our own internal proprietary scoring methodology or work with a cash flow -based vendor
Monitor our ongoing repayment risk of existing credit offerings, collect on past due accounts, and create strategies to mitigate losses
Create & test strategies to extend more credit to more of our customers w/o materially exposing us to more repayment risk
Use our proprietary sources of customer funding to build underwriting models that let us offer credit to our customers in a way that other institutions are unable to do so
Structure, price, and propose credit terms that balance the borrower’s capacity to repay and Mercury’s risk posture
Partner in refinement of credit policy, processes and procedures
Work cross functionally with Product, Engineering, Design, and Data teams to improve the customer experience
Who You Are
Have 5+ years of experience with financial analysis & interpreting financial performance or assessing risk exposure
Have significant experience using data to build underwriting & credit models
Have experience doing consumer lending, ideally using cash flow models that have little to no reliance on FICO scores
Have an understanding and excitement for the opportunity to build products for recently arrived immigrants
Have an ability & desire to dig into numbers and derive meaningful insights and action
