We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Community Engineer to join our Developer Education team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the software that powers our developer hub, documentation, and community platforms. You will also build and integrate tools that help us map and understand our community, including influencers, members, and their interactions. This is a unique opportunity to blend engineering, community engagement, and technical content creation, all contributing to the growth and vibrancy of the Netlify developer ecosystem.

What You’ll Do:

  • Consistently deliver against the goals of our developer hub, documentation, and community platforms by building, enhancing, and maintaining the necessary software.
  • Use your skills and prior experience to ensure our documentation is accessible, up-to-date, and user-friendly, in collaboration with the Developer Education team.
  • Develop, build, and maintain integrations with our GTM tools to keep our community maps accurate and current.
  • Establish and execute the creation of tools to track and analyze community interactions, member contributions, and influencer impact, ensuring data accuracy for strategic decision-making.
  • Manage and lead community engagement efforts by collaborating with members to understand their needs, gathering feedback, and actively participating in discussions, forums, and events to foster a sense of belonging and collaboration.
  • Elevate and advocate for our community by identifying and engaging with key influencers and advocates.
  • Work on and perform technical support and guidance, helping community members navigate our tools and platforms.
  • Prepare, create, and maintain educational content in close collaboration with the Developer Education team to empower our community.
  • Grow in your role by collaborating with cross-functional teams to align community initiatives with broader company goals.
  • Achieve and exceed the goals of community engagement and support, serving as a key member in fostering an inclusive and collaborative environment.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Proven experience as a software engineer, preferably with a focus on community or developer tools.
  • A history of working with modern web development technologies, including JavaScript, Node.js, and React.
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate APIs and utilize data analytics tools.
  • Well-versed in understanding developer communities and their unique needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A deep appreciation for developer education and community engagement.
  • Accustomed to working independently and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Some high-level exposure to Netlify or similar web development platforms.
  • A breadth of experience with GTM tools and their integration.
  • Prior experience in community management or developer advocacy roles preferred.
  • A passion for contributing to open-source projects or developer communities.
  • An appetite for learning and a strong sense of creativity.

At Netlify, we are committed to a compensation philosophy that prioritizes fairness and equity, positions our employee compensation competitively in the market, recognizes and rewards performance, and takes a comprehensive approach to our rewards package. We anchor our compensation philosophy on a market-based approach, therefore salary ranges may differ depending on the labor cost in a particular location. The salary provided is in addition to robust benefits and participation in Netlify’s equity plan. Our base compensation for this role is targeted at $151,300 - $204,700 for most US-based locations. Candidates outside the US or in premium markets should consult with their Talent Acquisition partner regarding location-based ranges, as they may be higher or lower than the average US range listed. The starting pay will be determined based on multiple factors, including expertise and skills, market demands, experience, internal equity, and applicable geographic location. These compensation packages and ranges are subject to change and may be modified in the future.
