Job Description
  • Coordinate content creation with team of talented videographers, photographers, and social media coordinator
  • Create engaging content for JSO social media platforms and news releases at direction of unit commander
  • Collaborate with JSO units to share stories with the public
  • Guide multimedia team and help write/produce content
  • Stay up to date with news within agency and across the country, with a keen eye on law enforcement trends
  • Create content online for JSO’s website, newsletters, and podcasts
  • Monitor analytics and create weekly reports on online engagement
  • Help manage schedules for video shoots, content release, podcasts and newsletters
  • Ensure proper branding and grammar are used in content
  • Carry out other duties as requested
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Excellent grammar and writing skills
  • Knowledge of social media engagement and trends
  • Basic understanding of law enforcement / public safety
  • Ability to work from the office in downtown Jacksonville
  • Ability to work after hours for certain circumstances
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to do graphic design on platforms like Canva and Adobe Create Suite
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently in emergent situations
  • Ability to produce video projects, both short-form and long-form
Open Requirements/Supplemental Information
  • 2 years of experience in professional content creation, government public information, or news industry
  • Ability to edit photographs and videos
