Position Summary:
Bartender works in a high-volume, upscale establishment, specializing in crafting and serving high-quality cocktails and beverages to guests. Bartenders provide exceptional service while showcasing expertise in mixology and beverage knowledge. Maintaining organization, cleanliness and completing prep and stocking tasks.
RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Welcome and greet guests in a friendly and professional manner, creating a welcoming atmosphere at the bar.
  • Prepare and serve a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including classic and creative cocktails, wine, beer, and specialty drinks.
  • Interact with guests to provide recommendations, answer questions about the menu, and make personalized drink suggestions based on their preferences.
  • Have a thorough knowledge of cocktail recipes, ingredients, and presentation techniques to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Mix, garnish, and present drinks according to established recipes and presentation standards.
  • Maintain an organized and clean bar area, ensuring that glasses, utensils, and other bar tools are properly cleaned and sanitized.
  • Restock bar supplies, including liquor, mixers, garnishes, glassware, and other necessary ingredients, ensuring availability throughout the shift.
  • Operate and maintain bar equipment, such as blenders, shakers, ice machines, and cash registers.
  • Take and process drink orders accurately, using a point-of-sale (POS) system or order slips.
  • Handle cash transactions and process payments, including providing guests with accurate and timely bills.
  • Engage in upselling techniques to promote premium beverages, specials, and additional menu items.
  • Assist in inventory management, including monitoring stock levels, reporting shortages, and conducting regular stock counts.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen and waitstaff to ensure smooth coordination of drink orders with food service.
  • Adhere to all applicable laws and regulations regarding the service of alcoholic beverages, including checking guest identification to verify legal drinking age.
  • Follow health and safety regulations, including proper handling and storage of alcoholic beverages, as well as cleanliness and sanitation practices.
Requirements
REQUIREMENTS
  • Previous experience as a Bartender in a fine dining or upscale restaurant is typically required.
  • In-depth knowledge of mixology, including classic and contemporary cocktail recipes and techniques.
  • Strong understanding of various types of alcoholic beverages, including wine, spirits, beer, and liqueurs.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and interact with guests in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Professional and polished appearance, with attention to detail in presentation and drink preparation.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to handle a high volume of drink orders.
  • Familiarity with POS systems and basic math skills for accurate order taking and payment processing.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining composure and delivering timely service.
  • Flexibility to work in shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with the bar team, waitstaff, and kitchen staff.
  • Knowledge of wine pairing and appreciation is a plus.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy boxes or kegs when necessary.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Understanding of responsible alcohol service practices and compliance with legal drinking age verification.
  • RBS or similar certification for responsible alcohol service is required.
