We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of IT Advisor, Enterprise Architecture within our IT Department group based in Houston, Texas . As an IT Enterprise Architecture Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our organization's technology strategy and ensuring alignment between business goals and IT initiatives. You will provide expert guidance on enterprise architecture principles, methodologies, and best practices to drive digital transformation and optimize our technology landscape. The EA Advisor collaborates with stakeholders across IT, business units, and external partners to drive the adoption of best practices, optimize processes, and deliver scalable solutions. The scope of responsibilities includes enabling the organization to achieve targeted business outcomes that support enterprise objectives for growing revenue, optimizing costs, and mitigating risks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Help to develop and maintain the enterprise architecture strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals and IT initiatives.
  • Create long-term roadmaps for IT systems, applications, and infrastructure that support scalability, innovation, and agility.
  • Build key relationships with both IT and business stakeholders to operate as an internal management consultancy to proactively deliver EA services.
  • Work closely with business stakeholders, BRM, and Service Owners to translate business issues and opportunities into technical strategies and solutions.
  • Ensure alignment between the IT roadmap and overall business strategy. Support IT portfolio planning, management, and modernization.
  • Define and enforce architectural principles, guidelines, and standards to maintain consistency and integrity across IT projects and systems.
  • Contribute to the development and updating of the IT Strategy and Operating Model.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing insights and recommendations on IT strategy and architecture.
  • Drive innovation: Collaborate with our Emerging technology practice and business, proactively exploring key technology opportunities and how they can be applied to business-driven outcomes.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s or bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, system analysis or a related field of study, or equivalent experience.
  • The ideal candidate should have 8-10 years of experience across multiple disciplines, including business/IT, solution or technical architecture, application development, strategic and/or operations planning, information analysis, data management, or IT operations in a complex environment.
  • Technical Knowledge - Understanding of common technologies to support business ecosystems - SaaS, IaaS, PaaS, APIs, Cloud, database, etc.
  • Methodologies and Frameworks - Familiarity with common information management practices, SDLC, IT services management, agile methodology, infrastructure and operations, and ITIL frameworks.
  • Strong leadership skills, along with applicable soft and interpersonal skills - including in teamwork/collaboration, facilitation, and negotiation.
  • Strong consulting skills with regards to engagement management, stakeholder management, and business development – able to speak the language of our business.
  • Organizationally savvy, with situational awareness around the current state of the enterprise and how to navigate obstacles and complexities.
  • Application landscape simplification, reduction of technical debt, and application rationalization.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and clients.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of cloud computing, IT infrastructure, software development, security, and data management.
  • Familiarity with TOGAF, Zachman, or other enterprise architecture frameworks.
  • Experience with modern technologies such as microservices, APIs, DevOps, and AI/ML is a plus.
  • Experience with Application portfolio management.
