About the Role
We are looking for a Director of Product Marketing & Research . This leader and their team will be at the center of our efforts to bring our new propositions to Walmart's customers. We are looking for a seasoned leader who has experience in early-stage startups (a must). You will be a strategic partner to Product and Business as you lead a team of product marketers and customer researchers that will be responsible for generating insights, bringing new tech products and features to market, and driving engagement across our product suite, which includes Augmented Reality, Generative AI assistance, and Replenishment.
Your team will serve as the internal experts on the customer, product, competitors, and our market position to inform product development and drive GTM efforts through trial and adoption.
What You'll Achieve:
- Develop a clear GTM strategy that translates our product's power into compelling solutions that accelerate product adoption and revenue growth.
- Including developing and validating GTM hypotheses with demand generation experiments that yield useful insights on how we can improve awareness and adoption of our offering.
- Responsible for all product marketing activities and budgets to support GTM.
- Foster a deep understanding of Walmart customers and emerging technologies use cases, and help evangelize that understanding with leadership and partner teams.
- Lead cross-functional research efforts and turn into meaningful insights that inform team priorities and roadmaps.
- Position our products in the market, including testing product positioning and messaging to generate interest, understanding, and trial.
- Empower our Product team with playbooks, customer stories, competitive positioning and a strong feedback loop between the customer and product.
- Lead and scale an incredible team. Hire and nurture a strong team of product marketers and customer insights analysts who are strategic leaders and execution machines, and who can act as organizational drivers.
- Bring the Walmart brand and ethos to New Proposition product(s) and coordinate with other Walmart teams for effective promotion and placement.
What You'll Need
- Bachelor's degree and MBA or advanced graduate degree a plus.
- 10+ years' product marketing experience in early-stage consumer products along with experience with research/customer insights.
- 4+ years' experience as a manager leading a team.
- Strong demonstrated partnerships with product orgs. You can point to moments when you have influenced the product roadmap.
- Experience leading teams to design and execute research using various methodologies.
- The ability to distill complex information into understandable, actionable, persuasive assets.
- Customer-centric mindset with experience in generating qualitative and quantitative insights and using those insights to inform your marketing strategies.
- A strong bias to action and sense of curiosity. As a fast-moving organization, everyone's scope is big and we're always doing something new.
- Superb communication of concepts and ideas to stakeholders at all levels including C-level executives.
- Success in an entrepreneurial environment and ability to manage and execute multiple priorities while operating through ambiguity with minimal guidance.
- Know how to inspire and motivate and support a team to get things done.
- Willingness to roll up your sleeves and do what's necessary.

This is a full-time role based in Bentonville, Arkansas, in-office 5 days per week. The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00-$220,000.00. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include:
