Job Summary: The Solutions Architect communicates, consults, and collaborates with business unit stakeholders and IS teams to design and develop appropriate solutions to address business challenges. This position plays a key role in the analysis, definition, and development of critical long-term technical capabilities and solutions.


Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with business stakeholders, Business Systems Analysts, Project Managers, Software Developers, and IS Development Managers to develop potential solutions for business needs.
  2. Document solution design, processes, key requirements, and assumptions.
  3. Consult with Project Managers to understand project scope and identify potential bodies of work and existing capabilities.
  4. Collaborate with IS Development Managers to define the level of effort required for proposed solutions.
  5. Work with IS Development Managers and Business Intelligence Developers to ensure solutions meet business needs and technical standards.
  6. Identify missing capabilities and advocate for their development.
  7. Collaborate with business units to map ISBI capabilities and assist with documentation.
  8. Participate in the selection and vetting process for new products and capabilities.
  9. Act as project manager for cross-team capabilities and development activities as needed.
  10. Provide peer review and mentorship to technical staff.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Experience and/or Education:

Required:

  1. Minimum 7 years' experience in technical roles related to solutions architecture.
  2. Minimum 2 years' experience developing software solutions involving web, mobile, data warehousing, and analytics.

Preferred:

  • Experience in the healthcare industry.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  1. Expert-level knowledge of Azure platform capabilities.
  2. Proficiency with SQL, C#, and Snowflake.
  3. Strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle.
  4. In-depth understanding of data integration best practices.
  5. Strong conceptual understanding of enterprise data warehouse architectures.
  6. Knowledge of managed care concepts.
  7. Familiarity with health insurance business entities.
