Role And Responsibilities
The Director of Retail Sales Enablement will be responsible for all sales development and sales support processes and operations. This leader will develop and improve end-to-end processes for current and new field sales initiatives. This role will build the sales support strategy in support of the field execution team, in the delivery of sales. The role also includes gathering insights from the field, determining system enhancements, project managing process development and enhancements, and creating launch processes for the field team. Paying close attention to what works well and what doesn’t, the Retail Sales Enablement Director will be agile in cross-functional partnerships with other capabilities, the field leadership, and partners within the company and the vendor community. Program management of third-party vendors and support teams including requesting budgets and creating headcounts. This leader will be the central point of communication for our corporate and retail field teams, utilizing effective communication, a strategic mindset, collaboration, organizational savvy, project management, and technical ability as vital pieces of the job.
As a complex organization, the Retail Sales Enablement Director will be key in facilitating sales program alignment across the business. The leader will be required to garner insights and execute initiatives that improve upon the existing field processes and ultimately align to the broader company goals. This Director will interact with Executive Leadership across Samsung, globally and within cross-functional areas, to drive Samsung’s retail field experience forward. This will include being a fierce advocate for the field team, driving communication, knowledge, processes, and feedback into everything we do, so that the field can focus on driving sell-out. Additionally, you will be required to explain complicated, detailed, and quickly changing facts to Samsung’s retail executive leadership team in a succinct, easy-to-understand manner.
Position Objective
- Set the Sales Support strategy for the mobility, home entertainment, and appliance line of businesses
- Develop the strategic design, planning, and implementation of programs and processes to support retail go-to-market objectives and to ensure integration with the broader strategy
- The ability to provide initiatives insights, program updates, analyze data, and execution results through storytelling
- Streamline field tools and improve overall efficiency
- Project manage all sales programs, track all enhancements, and provide and hold cross-functional teams accountable to meeting timelines and deadlines
- Manage end-to-end field programs from budgeting, alignment, tool creation, execution of processes, tracking, and reporting of all field sales teams
- Manage a financial portfolio supporting all field sales programs, 3rd party labor, field merch, large events, and mobile sales enablement app
- Manage multiple vendor relationships by providing strategy, guidance, and governance to each program
- Demonstrates strong business knowledge, leadership, and general management skills
- Provide process enhancements and updates based on feedback from the field and cross-functional leaders
- Provide team and organizational leadership
- Ability to travel approximately 10-20% of the time
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (Preferred) and 12+ years of relevant district/sales manager experience
- Retail management experience in store or corporate office 5+ years
- Multi-unit retail experience 2+ years (Preferred)
- Deep knowledge in retail operations, sales enablement, training with the ability to demonstrate knowledge of best practices, methodologies, and technologies in each of these areas
- Experience with a mobile training app (Preferred)
- Experience program managing a 3rd party labor company (Preferred)
Skills And Qualifications
- Ability to excel in fast-paced environments, embrace operational rigor and are comfortable with ambiguity
- Strength in working cross-functionally, harnessing a collaborative team environment and being able to lead project work within a large dynamic team and drive end-to-end planning
- Adaptability to move at the pace of retail and work in a constantly evolving environment, making decisive decisions when needed
- High proficiency in Power Point, Word, and Excel
- Outstanding written and communications, time management, and organization skills
- Ability to drive and improve business cadence (planning, scheduling, communication), setting and improving processes, monitoring execution and driving accountability and visibility of progress against goals and objectives
