Job Description
Job Summary :
We are seeking hands-on engineers who enjoy organizing, planning, and continual improvement to join our fast-paced industrial automation services & solutions teams. As a Project Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting project execution via the planning, guiding, and management of engineering projects dealing with machine vision and barcode inspection systems deployed at the largest ship-to-home and ship-to-store companies in the world. You will work closely with senior engineers and project managers to ensure that projects are completed on time, within scope, and according to quality standards. This position offers hands-on experience in project management, engineering processes, some client interactions, and providing a strong foundation for a career in engineering management.
Key Responsibilities :
- Assist in the development of project plans, schedules, and resource allocation.
- Support the coordination of engineering teams, ensuring alignment with project objectives.
- Monitor project progress and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to senior project managers.
- Contribute to the preparation of project documentation, including technical specifications, reports, and presentations.
- Communication & Coordination :
Act as a liaison between team members working in various areas of the project lifecycle, including engineering, procurement, and manufacturing, to ensure seamless project execution. - Participate in project meetings and communicate updates to internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist in managing client communications, including status updates, feedback, and issue resolution.
- Support the identification and assessment of potential risks to project timelines and deliverables.
- Assist in developing and implementing risk mitigation strategies to minimize project disruptions.
- Quality Assurance :
Collaborate with the quality assurance team to ensure that all project deliverables meet company standards and client expectations. - Participate in project reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Site Support :
Provide on-site support during key project implementations, including installation, testing, and commissioning of automation systems. - Assist in troubleshooting and resolving any technical issues that arise during the project lifecycle.
Requirements
Qualifications :
- Completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Basic understanding of project management principles and tools (e.g., Gantt charts, scheduling software, R/O registers, etc.).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
- Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) is a plus.
- Certification in project management (e.g., CAPM, PMP) or proficiency in related tools is desired.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Gain hands-on experience in project management within the automation industry.
- Develop a deep understanding of engineering processes, from design to implementation.
- Enhance problem-solving and critical-thinking skills through real-world project challenges.
- Build professional relationships with industry experts and clients.
- The position may require occasional travel to client sites for on-site support.
