We enable them to work with a single source to get their product the market access success they need.What are we looking for?The Materials Lab Testing Technician position involves product analysis for the construction industry. This position is responsible for providing technical support for engineering staff, including performing duties related to routine testing, maintenance or clean-up. This position works under direct supervision.Salary & Benefits InformationIn addition to competitive compensation packages, when working with Intertek you can expect benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, 401(k) with company match, generous vacation / sick time (PTO), tuition reimbursement and more.What you’ll do:Setting up test apparatus and test fixturesOperating test equipmentMaintaining equipment and facilitiesPreparing test samplesObtaining and recording test data in accordance with standardsPerforming basic analysis of test data and routine calculationsDrafting technical reportsExtracting and compiling engineering dataPreparing project files for compliance with operating proceduresVisually inspect test samples for changes in material properties and appearanceMaking recommendations regarding technical decisions relating to the interpretation and applicability of test standardsCommunicating with clients and managementPerforming other work as requiredOperating a forkliftMinimum Requirements & Qualifications:Associate's degree or completion of technical program in material science or related preferred1-3 years related experienceAbility to utilize basic shop equipment and various tools (hand and power tools, cutting saws which include band, table, and circular saws)Ability to review, understand, and convey technical information in an effective mannerAbility to manage projects and communicate with clientsAbility to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environmentVisual acuity for reading fine print while observing changing characteristics (Color and Texture)Physical dexterity to execute precise tasks using delicate materials and equipmentPhysical ability to routinely lift at least 50 poundsPhysical ability to sit, stand, crouch, bend, climb stairs and ladders, crawl, push, pull, etc. as required to perform job dutiesStrong communication skills, in both verbal and written formatsMicrosoft Office software expertise, including Word, Excel and OutlookIntertek: Total Quality.
