We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Estimator to contribute to our continued success by providing accurate and competitive estimates for a variety of commercial construction projects.
Description
Cost Estimation:
- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for commercial construction projects, considering all relevant factors, such as materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor bids.
- Utilize historical data, industry benchmarks, and market trends to ensure competitive and realistic estimates.
Bid Preparation:
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for bid preparation.
- Prepare comprehensive bid proposals and submit them in a timely manner.
Vendor and Subcontractor Management:
- Source and evaluate potential vendors and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotes.
- Negotiate and secure favorable terms with suppliers and subcontractors.
Value Engineering:
- Analyze project requirements and propose value engineering solutions to optimize costs without compromising quality.
- Collaborate with project teams to explore alternative materials or construction methods.
Bid Analysis:
- Evaluate bid proposals from subcontractors and vendors to ensure accuracy, completeness, and competitiveness.
- Provide recommendations to project teams based on bid analysis.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with project managers, architects, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and provide ongoing support during the pre-construction phase.
Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Proven experience as an Estimator in the commercial construction industry, preferably in the New York market.
- In-depth knowledge of construction materials, methods, and costs.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
