City Experiences is seeking a National Corporate Account Manager for our National Sales operation in Chicago.

About the Opportunity:

The successful Account Manager will execute the sales plan for their assigned market segment and sub-segments, maximizing revenue generation from that territory.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

National Sales Strategy:

  1. Develop comprehensive knowledge of all US ports, vessels, and product offerings.
  2. Achieve prospecting targets as set by the national director, focusing on highly valued convention and association business.
  3. Uncover national sales leads through networking and research, referencing past history and future opportunities with city-wide convention and association business.
  4. Successfully convert national prospects to clients by conducting sales calls to both new and existing guests along with using effective closing techniques.
  5. Identify guest needs and utilize in-depth product knowledge to prepare effective proposals with the goal of hitting identified conversion rate targets.
  6. Present proposals over the phone, in virtual meetings and in person (when appropriate) during site inspections and appointments.
  7. Demonstrate strong teamwork skills by assisting fellow team members to send out information and close deals. Serve as a subject matter expert for your home region and cover for account managers that may be away from their desk or out of office.
  8. Establish relationships with associations, business organizations and hotels in assigned locations (e.g. Chamber of Commerce, Convention & Visitors Bureau, MPI).

National Sales Activity:

  1. Identify national companies and organizations that have multi-port opportunities and establish relationships with top meeting planners.
  2. Utilize specified sales enablement tools to uncover new national leads and decision makers.
  3. In conjunction with the Director of National Corporate Sales, identify the top 100 city-wide conventions with potential for revenue.
  4. Identify the top 100 professional associations that host meetings around the US.
  5. Leverage existing DMC relationships to drive immediate sales and gain referrals.
  6. Drive relationships with largest domestic event management companies.
  7. Regularly contact all DMC and event management companies we have done business with in the past.
  8. Regularly visit local DMCs and hotel partners to develop these relationships.
  9. Utilize ‘campaigns’ in Salesforce to track leads and bookings.
  10. Participate in the development of a national hotel referral program for group sales.
  11. Identify DMC networks throughout the country to create an overarching approach.
  12. Work efficiently while exhibiting strong ability to multi-task.
  13. Leverage past business that clients may have done in other ports.

Guest Focus:

  1. Respond to all leads within a maximum of 24 hours and cover leads for other account managers as necessary.
  2. Ensure complete and accurate details of sale are communicated to the event servicing team.
  3. Following a client’s cruise, converse with the client to gain feedback and cross-sell the entire portfolio.
  4. Regularly ask the client for referrals to drive additional sales within a company.
  5. Resolve all guest complaint issues in a timely manner.

Administrative:

  1. Use Salesforce CRM system to effectively plan and manage activities in the assigned markets.
  2. Use Salesforce CRM & Reservation systems to accurately book and manage reservations.
  3. Maintain organization through time management, setting priorities, and accurate paperwork.
  4. Work with Sales Admin to collect payments and keep accounts receivables up to date.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in a discipline related to the work of the position preferred OR Associates Degree.
  2. Minimum of five (5) years’ total sales experience in Corporate Sales.
  3. Proven record of success within corporate market, with emphasis on attaining yearly sales goals.
  4. Existing relationships with local DMCs, CVBs, and Hoteliers.
  5. Hospitality experience preferred.
  6. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  7. Analytical skills required to identify and exploit selling opportunities.
  8. Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office, CRM and reservation software.
