We are working with an industry-leading client in the fast-paced world of professional racing to find a Software Manager who will lead their dynamic development team. As the face of the Software Development Team, you'll oversee complex, high-impact projects and collaborate with key stakeholders to bring ambitious ideas to life. This role is perfect for someone passionate about being on the front line of software innovation and leading a talented team to success.
Location: Orange County, CA (onsite 2 days per week)
Compensation: This is a direct hire role that expects to pay about $160-170k annually plus a great benefits/comp package
What You Will Do:
- Lead and oversee the work of a talented team of 5-7 software developers.
- Manage multiple, concurrent software development projects, ensuring smooth delivery.
- Act as the primary liaison between development teams and cross-functional stakeholders, including engineering, product owners, and executives.
- Oversee Agile development efforts, including facilitating ceremonies and managing stories, tickets, and workflows.
- Navigate and resolve complex questions from developers to ensure alignment with business goals and technical needs.
- Provide leadership and direction in the implementation of a modern tech stack, including AWS services like DynamoDB, Kinesis, and Lambdas.
- Support continuous integration and delivery through Gitlab and other development tools.
What Gets You The Job:
- Strong technical background with the ability to understand and read code; ideal for a former software engineer.
- Deep understanding of the full software development lifecycle and Agile methodologies.
- Proven experience in project or program management, overseeing complex development efforts.
- Hands-on experience with modern tech stacks, especially AWS (DynamoDB, Kinesis, Lambdas).
- Proficiency in JavaScript, Node.js, Python, and NoSQL databases.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum processes and facilitation of ceremonies.
- Experience with Gitlab or similar CI/CD tools is a plus.
