The Salvation Army Mission:

Job Objective:
Establishes and promotes company safety and compliance according to the Department of Transportation and MIOSHA regulations. Uses "best practice" methods whenever possible to minimize the risk of work-related injuries and illnesses as well as vehicle accidents. Oversees compliance of DOT driver files, vehicle files, vehicle maintenance records, MIOSHA, city, state, and federally regulated items as applicable. Coordinates the completion and documentation of company compliance. Travels locally.
Essential Functions:
- Supports the mission statement of The Salvation Army.
- Oversees the maintenance and compliance of driver files.
- Maintain accident register.
- Conducts training and safety meetings.
- Coordinates drug and alcohol testing when applicable.
- Maintains all documented safety and compliance training.
- Coordinates forklift and stacker training.
- Maintains record of DOT vehicle maintenance.
- Completes monthly mileage reports and fleet inventory.
- Renews vehicle registrations as required.
- Overseas electronic compliance program Encompass for vehicle and DOT drivers.
- Periodically audits driver and vehicle files for compliance.
- Uses administrative controls to coordinate Summit Training.
- Processes non-employee insurance claim.
- Maintains insurance claim log.
- Maintains all MIOSHA written program.
- Coordinates the training of MIOSHA program.
- Participates and takes minutes in Safety Committee.
- Distribute PPE upon request.
- Reports safety concerns as they arise to the Director of DOT / MIOSHA Compliance.
- Assists with the review and correction of inspections from city, state, federal and company officials including insurance and property inspections.
Other Duties:
- All tasks or assignments as assigned by Administration and/or Director.
