About the job Investment Banking Sr. Associate M&A (Elite Boutique)
Our client, an elite investment banking boutique, is seeking an experienced Associate to join their M&A team. This prestigious firm has a track record of advising on over $850 billion in transactions across various industries since its founding in June 2015. With offices in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Stamford, our client offers a unique opportunity to work on high-profile deals in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
As an Associate in M&A, you will be a key player in our client's business strategy and execution. You will participate in the "full cycle" of transactional execution, including:

  • Developing content for strategic meetings with clients regarding M&A transactions
  • Interacting with senior team members and client management teams on a daily basis to execute transactions and discuss strategic alternatives
  • Defining, guiding, and reviewing detailed valuation analyses, including DCF, trading comparables, transaction comparables, and LBO analyses
  • Preparing and presenting internal committee memoranda and client presentations
  • Providing leadership, mentorship, and supervision to junior Associates and Analysts
  • Participating in graduate recruiting efforts
You will play a leadership role in implementing the execution function, working closely with analysts and junior associates, as well as assisting more senior bankers. You will develop strong functional skills in major areas of investment banking and demonstrate the ability to become a senior officer capable of generating and executing your own transactions.
Working with a broader team across the firm's offices, you will be involved in real-time transactions that may include frequent travel.
Qualifications
Our client seeks exceptional candidates with:
  • 3+ years of prior work experience in an investment banking front office role
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree from a top-tier educational institution
  • Strong financial modeling skills
  • In-depth understanding of the transaction cycle and execution process
  • Impeccable communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with senior professionals, clients, and key stakeholders in other lines of business
  • Self-direction, high motivation, and ability to work independently
  • Demonstrated leadership potential and mentorship capabilities

The ideal candidate will understand the nuances of working in an elite boutique environment and be able to contribute immediately to the firm's high-performance culture.
