Job Summary

This position description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees with this classification. Perioperative Services is a large division comprised of clinical departments supporting surgical and procedural areas. Departmental units include and are not limited to the Pavilion Operating Room, PreOp-PACU, Sterile Processing Unit, Same Day Surgery Center, Pre-Anesthesia Clinic (PAC), GI Lab/Endoscopy, Interventional Pulmonary, and Anesthesiology. The incumbent is responsible for analyzing and managing data in the areas of Payroll Timekeeping, Leaves/Return to Work Status, Attendance for the Division and Staff Scheduling (for the Operating Room).
This incumbent is a member of a team in Perioperative Services who works with the OR Staff Scheduler to assess OR Staffing needs, is responsible for Electronic Staffing System, staff scheduling support and provides excellent customer service to facilitate inquiries from Periop/Operating Room staff. Incorporates various data sources including timekeeping systems (UC Davis Health EcoTime), Leave Management System (LOA Leaves Module), data related to State and Federal requirements (FMLA/CFRA/ WC leaves) and modified duty. OR Staff Scheduling consists of maintaining/tracking on-call, holiday time, vacations and professional development leave in accordance with University and Union Collective Bargaining Agreements.
This incumbent is an experienced professional and performs duties and responsibilities with high accountability and minimal supervision. Serves as analysts for developing methods and ensures the appropriate methodology, design and participation in Performance, and Quality Improvement projects in the areas of Payroll and Leave Management.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience working with timekeeping and electronic staff scheduling systems.
  • Knowledge and experience in all aspects of Payroll, FML/CFRA, other Leaves of Absence and Attendance.
  • Experience and familiarity with the operations and staff scheduling of a large complex clinical department such as Manin Operating Room.
  • Tact and sensitivity to deal with a wide array of confidential matters, exercising sound judgement. Proper judgement to protect, share, determine the appropriate release of sensitive/confidential personnel information.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Payroll work experience in a 24/7 healthcare organization preferred.
