We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Finance Operational Leader to join our billing team. The Billing Director will play a critical role in leading/co-leading the day-to-day operations management of our billing operations, with a primary focus on reporting. This individual will ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance in all billing processes, directly contributing to the financial health and operational excellence of the company.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a North America billing operations team, providing guidance, mentoring, and development opportunities to ensure a high-performing and motivated team.
  • Co-lead the day-to-day billing operations, ensuring timely and accurate response to customers related to all back-office issues in all our regions (Americas, EMEA, APAC). This includes processing complex orders, addressing customer contract add-ons, amendments, and extensions.
  • Develop and execute strategies to optimize billing processes and enhance efficiency.
  • Develop / Co-develop the implementation of best practices and procedures to maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Collaborate with other senior leaders across Collections, Sales Operations, Finance, Accounting, and IT to align business operations with company goals and objectives and troubleshoot complex billing issues.
  • Identify and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to determine teams’ effectiveness addressing issues and correcting billing specialists’ actions.
  • Identify and implement sales and business processes and implementations that benefit Sales and the Customer Work with our Systems Operations team to map out and implement processes as we continue to scale.
  • Support projects to drive sales methodology and enablement strategy and execution, as well as any other initiatives as related to Billing Operations processes and adjacent functions.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate potential issues.
  • Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management on billing operations performance, issues, and initiatives.
  • Ability to work across global time zones on occasion.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. MBA or equivalent preferred. 5-10+ years of Quote to Cash operations experience, ideally at a Global/Publicly Traded Software SaaS/Hardware company. Deep experience, capability and orientation working with data to drive decisions. Experience implementing process changes and automation. Strong verbal and written communication, time management, organizational, and presentation skills. Experience in a collaborative, fluid, fast-paced, dynamic, scaling environment. Highly motivated and results driven, self-starter, operating with a sense of urgency and values accountability.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • In-depth knowledge of NetSuite and Salesforce platforms, and any certification with NetSuite and Salesforce is highly desirable.
  • Experience in implementing strategic accounting initiatives for process improvement.
  • Strong understanding of billing systems, revenue recognition principles, and financial reporting.
  • Proven leadership experience managing teams and driving operational excellence in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate and influence across all levels of the organization.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute long-term initiatives while managing day-to-day operations.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP) and billing platforms (e.g., Zuora, Salesforce Billing) is a plus.
