Job Description As a Principal International Trade Compliance Import/Export Analyst, you will serve as a business partner providing compliance support and guidance to your internal clients. Work products and interactions will be at multiple levels including the assigned program office teams, Contracts, Business Development, and senior leadership. This role will require extensive experience with US export/import laws and regulations to include the ITAR, EAR, customs, foreign trade regulations, OFAC, and other applicable federal government regulations. In addition, this position will support classification activities – preparation and management of commodity jurisdictions, commodity classification requests, and HTS and Schedule B codes and classifications. This position will assist with the development and training of executive management, engineering, program teams, shipping, and other functions directly or indirectly involved in importing and exporting goods and/or technical data and defense services.
This is a full-time position with a 75% in-office presence in Fort Walton Beach, FL. Applicants must either reside in this location, be willing to relocate, or travel for this role.

Full-Time Salary Range: $78930 - $134190
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.

Responsibilities:
- Communicate and collaborate cross functionally with BAE Systems program teams, engineering, and business functions to ensure trade compliance across the business in accordance with company policies and applicable trade regulations
- Individual will be responsible for all trade compliance aspects for the assigned business area including application, administration and complete management of ITAR and EAR license applications, technical assistance agreements, exemptions and exceptions, proviso compliance, export recordkeeping, regulatory and company reporting, review of international shipments, product and technology classification, and review and approval for foreign travel and foreign visitors to assigned business areas locations
- Analyze and review information related to proposals, contracts, purchase orders, presentations and product development and participates in technical programmatic discussion/meetings for assigned business area product and technology portfolio
- Audit and verify that all shipment records are in compliance with the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), International Traffic in Arms (ITAR) and with US Customs Regulations. This position may collaborate with customs brokers, international freight forwarders, and legal counsel on matters related to logistics and trade compliance.
- Assist with trade compliance audits to document and identify necessary compliance actions, prepare corrective action plans and remedial activities, post-summary corrections, process gaps, or identify and prepare for training opportunities
- Support accurate product and technology classifications, Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classification, country of origin, valuation, and other customs issues when needed
- Review technology transfers in accordance with company policies and pursuant to authorization requirements
- Assist with review of processing shipments for export including filing AES/EEI as applicable.
- Support process and procedure improvements and coordinate on implementation thereto
- Participate as part of inter-and intra-company teams in projects or initiatives of varying complexities and matters
- Maintains export licensing records in EMS (OCR EASE) and/or other databases used for storing and tracking BAE Systems export licensing history and other reviews/approvals
- Position to include air travel to meetings, conferences, and training as applicable
- To be considered for this opportunity, applicants must be a current resident of the Fort Walton Beach (FWB), FL area, willing to relocate to FWB, or travel 75% to FWB
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience and 8-10 years of prior relevant trade experience
- Significant experience within the International Trade Compliance function in the defense industry
- Eligible for US Secret clearance
- Experience with and/or in the application of ITC regulations (ITAR, EAR, Customs, Foreign Trade Regulations, OFAC) in high-volume environments
- Knowledge of DECCS, SNAP-R, and/or OCR EASE
- Position requires access to U.S. export-controlled information; therefore, if applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to US export-controlled information from the US government
- Strong knowledge of current Department of State International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) (USML Category XI), and Department of Commerce, Export Administration Regulations (EAR)
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with minimal day-to-day supervision, detail oriented, demonstrated good writing skills, and excellent organization/communication skills
- Experience as an empowered official
