Key Responsibilities:
* Technical Proficiency: Read and interpret technical documents, blueprints, and drawings to accurately set up and operate various machine tools.
* Machining Operations: Operate machine shop equipment including lathes, mills, balancers, horizontal and vertical boring mills, and other machinery to create precision parts.
* Setup and Tolerances: Set up machine tools for inner diameter (I.D.) and outer diameter (O.D.) machining, ensuring all parts are produced to tolerances of +/- .0005.
* Quality Control: Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet strict quality standards and specifications.
* Material Handling: Operate overhead cranes and forklifts for transporting heavy materials; able to lift and carry items weighing at least 30 lbs; crane will be utilized for heavier loads.
* Physical Demands: Perform tasks that require reaching overhead, bending, and other physical activities necessary for machining operations.
* Troubleshoot: Be able to maintain machinery and check for and correct any alignment and concentricity issues that may arise.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
* Proven experience as a manual machinist, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
* Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
* Familiarity with operating overhead cranes and other shop equipment.
* Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Must be able to adhere to all safety rules and regulations as required by BWC policies and any related local, state, and federal laws.
