Responsibilities

Job Purpose

This Project Analyst is on the Project Management Office (PMO) Team. The team is focused specifically on managing, tracking and supporting business improvement corporate projects. This team supports a structured approach to implementing best practices in project, risk, and investment management.

Duties and Key Accountabilities

In this role, you will combine analytical skills & thought leadership to not only drive your individually assigned initiatives, but also identify new focus areas or gaps within Pattern’s current processes. In addition, you will function as a trusted resource with full knowledge of all internal, business processes for Pattern employees.

Key Responsibilities

  • Scope, design and conduct comprehensive management initiatives/projects to identify and propose solutions to complex problems with far-reaching scope or impact to a broad range of departments and business operations.
  • Scope Projects based on business data, project management insights, and internal stakeholder input – know what is in scope & know when issues are out of scope. Clearly communicate scope to everyone involved.
  • Draft & propose solutions to business needs or issues with an understanding of broader impacts or benefits across departments.
  • Drive existing Projects as the lead – schedule & run meetings, build consensus among staff without authority, take meeting notes, track action item progress, hold staff to deadlines & commitments.
  • Apply analytical concepts & techniques to lead the organization in creating & tracking unified key performance indicators (KPIs) – including unified reporting for a broad spectrum of internal audiences, from project managers up to executive management.
  • Develop reports that clearly show relevant information to the intended audience.
  • Understand the kinds of information staff needs to know. Define report requirements with business partners & conduct user acceptance testing with the right stakeholders.
  • Create presentations for circulation.
  • Present to business leadership and staff.
  • Lead internal stakeholders in revising policies, processes, and procedures with strategic impacts across teams.
  • Understand the gaps or pain points in current Pattern processes or policies.
  • Facilitate stakeholder discussion, provide recommendations & analysis to support them in making informed decisions.
  • Document final decisions, policies & procedures clearly.
  • Create training material and train key staff on policies and procedures – for eventual inclusion in Pattern’s Help Desk and/or Wiki.
  • Gather, evaluate, and continue to maintain programmatic data to support complete & reliable Commercial Project reporting. Design systems and database structures to support accessible project data.
  • Support / maintain database information on regular interval (monthly, weekly, etc.).
  • Audit database information to make sure it’s correct and up to date. Make sure proper staff is notified / asked to update data / information, as needed.
  • Review report contents & lead staff in managing corrections. Identify who owns a report and who is responsible for the correct data flowing into it.
  • Understand how systems and data interact at Pattern. Design project management & reporting solutions that work well with existing systems. Work with Business Systems Team to ensure business requirements are met.
  • Champion un-siloed data collection & reporting. Move as much data out of departmental spreadsheets into unified databases and reports.

Qualifications

Experience/Qualifications/Education Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, or related field.

Work Experience

  • 4 – 6 years of work experience in project or program management.
  • Experience in energy or large-scale construction projects.

Technical Skills

  • Familiarity with data analytics principles, SQL, statistics, working with large data sets, and data visualizations.
  • Basic knowledge of online project management tools like Microsoft Project, Trello, Jira.
  • Basic knowledge of data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft products including Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.

The expected starting pay range for this role is $80,000 - $95,000 USD. This range is an estimate and base pay may be above or below the ranges based on several factors including but not limited to location, work experience, certifications, and education. In addition to base pay, Pattern’s compensation program includes a bonus structure for full-time employees of all levels.
