Worker Type: Employee Group: Process Engineering - Toledo Department 2 Department Job Post End Date: 02/28/2025 NEW GRAD, ENGINEER-IN-TRAINING Start Date: June 2025 Location: Toledo, OH About this opportunity Cenovus's New Grad Program aims to attract, develop, and retain exceptional new grads to build a top talent pipeline for the company. The program provides new grads with a broad understanding of Cenovus's core business through challenging work assignments, training and development, field exposure and the opportunity to develop a large network of contacts through networking and mentorship opportunities. Our Program consists of three consecutive 12-month rotational assignments that span the US Cenovus's varied business areas. Rotational future assignments could include Process Engineer, Environmental, PSM, I&E reliability, Optimization & Coordination engineering. An example of a breadth of rotational experience could include the following: * Year 1: Unit Process Engineering - managing a variety of our operating units/technologies * Year 2: Environmental Engineering - water, air, wastewater * Year 3: Process Safety Engineering - relief valves, PHA, SOL/SDL Other potential rotational experiences could include the following: * Commercial scheduling * Process tools - mass balance, unit health monitoring gap closure * Systems optimization engineering - energy * Process development engineering * TAR engineering - planning and execution We do our best to accommodate preferences, though preferences are not guaranteed and based on business needs and availability. During the three-year program you will be expected to be open to relocating to any of Cenovus's operating sites for your rotations and/or your end-of-program placement. What you'll do Responsibilities may include: * Technical evaluations or identification of process issues to continuously improve the safety, reliability, and business performance of the refinery operations * Alarm management software development and implementation * Alarm rationalization * OMS blending controls * Collaborating with key stakeholders, including Process Engineering, Engineering and Technical Services, and Project Development * Determining key metrics, including Process Safety Management compliance, alarm performance, control scheme implementation, and control loops in normal mode * Providing data analysis reports for refinery operational issues, including recommendations for resolutions Who you are * Legally authorized to work in the US * Available to begin work June 2025 * Must have an undergraduate engineering degree in Chemical Engineering or Electrical Engineering obtained by May 31, 2025, and completed within the last 2 years * Valid Class D Driver's License with no restrictions Preferred * Enrolled in, or a graduate of an engineering program recognized by ABET (US Engineering Accreditation Board) * 3.0 cumulative GPA from a post-secondary program * Previous Cenovus Energy student experience We acknowledge the value of transferrable skills and may consider equivalent combinations of experience and education should you not meet a specific requirement.
