Position Title: Senior Supply Chain Manager

Department: Supply Chain

Scope of Job


Job Summary:

The Senior Supply Chain Manager is responsible for identifying, sourcing and aligning the company’s inventory (raw material supply and finished goods production) with customer demand.


Receives Direction From: Chief Operating Officer

Provides Direction To: Supply Chain Coordinator, Inventory Specialist, Buyer/Planner


Essential Functions

To include, but are not limited to the following:


Inventory/Logistics Management


  • Ensures availability of materials (components, sub-assemblies, finished goods) and maintains appropriate inventory levels to meet business needs. Responsible for managing forecast, materials buy plans, etc.
  • Responsible for creating and improving systems to maintain accurate inventory levels within all inventory management platforms. Delivers monthly, quarterly and annual inventory reports to finance and accountable for discrepancy resolution.
  • Identifies supplier requirements, communicates expectations to Eyenovia stakeholders and conducts supplier assessments for production capacity, capabilities, and quality.
  • Plans, coordinates and oversees all material and product receipts and shipments both domestically and internationally. Negotiates best transportation rates for material movements and consolidates shipments for maximum value. Responsible for inbound and outbound transportation.


Cost Management


  • Monitors supplier spending, both in aggregate and via patterns/cycles, and continuously evaluates options and opportunities to reduce total cost of the product.
  • Supports R&D, Manufacturing and Operations teams to thoroughly negotiate favorable contracts including parts pricing, tooling costs, and engineering services.
  • Continuously collaborates with strategic supply chain partners to optimize COGS and parts availability.
  • Achieves cost savings goals through strategic negotiations, savings tactics, additional cost avoidance, and savings opportunities.
  • Works closely with finance to ensure invoicing occurs in a timely manner. Provides regular updates regarding inventory valuation, cycle counts, inventory turns, materials invoicing and committed expenditures.


Supply Chain Team Leadership


  • Leads a team across multiple locations that performs resource planning for fulfilling the material needs of Eyenovia and its partners. Ensures the team is adequately staffed and trained to meet today and future goals.
  • Monitors the team’s progress against departmental goals. Leads regular team meetings to address operations topics, material needs, improvements and projects that require monitoring and resolution.
  • Provides performance reviews and timely feedback to direct reports regarding performance, execution, and contribution.
  • Responsible for all inventory warehouse locations. Establishes and maintains standard warehousing processes across all locations. Manages distributor relationships to support fulfillment of product to clinical trials and commercial distribution.
  • Establishes strong working relationships with Eyenovia suppliers to ensure continuity in business operations related to materials, production and logistics.


Demand and Capacity Scheduling


  • Accountable for planning, developing and executing materials orders with approved vendors to ensure that the master production schedule is satisfied and meets established cost targets.
  • Develops risk mitigation plans to proactively identify any potential issues that may impact product supply
  • Maintains overall supplier relationships and acts as the point of contact for all commercial issues, including internal reporting summarizing sourcing status, parts availability, and cost status.


Key Stakeholder and Driver for MRP/ERP System


  • Leads initiative to expand, optimize and improve use of MRP/ERP system throughout the company in order to increase cross-department communication and efficiencies.
  • Responsible for procurement activities. Issues and tracks weekly purchase orders and works closely with vendors to support on-time delivery while optimizing cost and inventory


Administrative Responsibilities


  • Develops and maintains SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), Work Instructions and Policies to create and maintain assigned business processes.
  • Active participant in quality initiatives. Attends and is a key member of NCMR, MRB, supplier evaluation and supplier qualification.
  • Travels 15%-30% of the time to visit suppliers and business partners, perform other business activities, and manage the team
  • Other activities as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS GUIDELINES

To include, but are not limited to the following:


Education/Training/Experience


4-year college degree or equivalent

7+ years of experience in supply chain management, including at least 2 years of management experience, preferably in a medical device or pharmaceutical R&D related environment

Experience implementing, managing and maintaining manufacturing ERP/MRP systems required. Experience with Cetec preferred.

Certification (APICS Purchasing and Inventory Manager, Integrated Resource Manager or Purchasing Manager) preferred.

International shipping experience is a plus.


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities


Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

Knowledge of component manufacturing processes for injection molding, assembly, and finished processes of plastics

Self-starter who transforms initiatives to practiced processes

Knowledge of and compliance with applicable Quality System requirements

Knowledge and experience with product, process and software validation

Previous success in establishing and maintaining supplier partnerships

Project management skills as part of cross-functional development teams

Ability to work collaboratively across the organization

Proficient with written and spoken English; strong written and verbal communication skills

Detail oriented and the ability to simultaneously manage multiple products and activities.

Travel up to 40%


Physical Requirements


Able to stand, walk and sit for extended periods of time.

Ability to travel by air, rail, car.

Able to operate personal computer.

Able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Training Requirements


Training in relation to company systems and procedures, as well as individual job duties will be provided by Eyenovia. The need for additional external training with respect to regulations, industry standards, etc. will be determined by employee’s supervisor, and provided as appropriate.
