KBR is seeking a highly motivated self-starter, adaptable to a fast-paced exciting environment as a Senior Electrical Engineer , to support the Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) contract at NAS Patuxent River, MD . This work is with a high operational tempo team working on innovative technologies to maintain air and sea superiority in support of the E3 Aircraft Division.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as an Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) Engineer providing support to the Mission Systems Team at the F-35 Joint Program Office (JPO).
  • Provide technical and management support for new development relating to E3 requirements, qualification, verification, certification testing, and spectrum management for the F-35 Air System.
  • Facilitate teamwork between the IPTs, Directors, NAVAIR and JPO functional competencies, fleet customers, Partner Countries, Foreign Military Sales Customers, and contractor organizations to ensure integration of all new hardware and software systems will meet customer expectations.

Basic Qualifications:

Required Education: Must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an institution with an ABET accredited engineering program. MS in Electrical Engineering is preferred.

Security Clearance Requirement: Secret OR able to obtain and maintain Secret security clearance. U.S. Citizenship.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years experience required in E3 for military aircraft design, development, test, evaluations, and reporting, in accordance with MIL-STD-461.
  • Experience in E3 includes Intrasystem Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC), Intersystem EMC, Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP), Lightning Protection, Electromagnetic Interference (EMI), Spectrum Management, Radiation Hazards (HERP, HERF, HERO), Electrostatic Discharge, Grounding, Bonding, Life Cycle E3 Control, TEMPEST, EMCON, and Electronic Protection.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Identify, Friend or Foe (IFF) certification testing IAW AIMS 17-1000 is desired.
  • Experience in gaining military aircraft spectrum certification is desired.
  • Knowledge of MIL-HDBK-516 Section 13 is desired.
