We’re seeking someone to join our team as a Director in ISG Equity Operations within Product Support & Services, which is responsible for providing transaction support and managing post-execution processes.

In the Operations division, we partner with business units across the Firm to support financial transactions, devise and implement effective controls, and develop client relationships. This is a Team Supervisor position at Director level within the Equity Cash Client Processing (CCP) Group, responsible for supporting Morgan Stanley's clients and other business divisions to provide a wide range of support related to their entrance into the business with Morgan Stanley, trading activities, settlement process, and business enablement. Issuing trade confirmations with correct allocation in an accurate/timely manner and appropriate communication, including timely escalation of issues to our clients, are becoming increasingly important responsibilities for CCP. Our better performance helps ensure a smooth process on the client side and better risk control at the firm, making a difference in competing with other brokers. In addition to day-to-day tasks, CCP frequently supports new business with client service aspects, closely working with other divisions such as Equity Business Unit, Legal & Compliance, IT, and other groups in Operations. Visiting clients is another activity that CCP can add value to, enabling the business and obtaining necessary feedback for the firm to provide the right client services.

What you’ll do in the role:

  • The role is dynamic, where you will be primarily responsible for delivering on both strategic and regulatory projects in addition to change initiatives for the Equity CCP team.
  • You will also be responsible for building and maintaining internal and external client relationships with key stakeholders such as International Equity Division (IED) Sales and Trading, IED Risk, and Institutional Clients.
  • An important part of the role will be working closely with the team at Equity CCP, ensuring that the trades are booked correctly and confirmations are sent accurately in a timely manner. You will manage unmatched and failed trades by monitoring exceptions and timely escalation to sales & trading desks and clients/counterparties.
  • Reviewing and monitoring risk reports and resolving exception items.
  • Static Data maintenance, such as commission rates and confirmation delivery details, which are critical for bringing correct commission and maintaining client confidentiality. You will maintain effective risk controls over clients' trading activities and timely escalate issues to respective internal parties for smooth resolution.
  • The team will handle high-value and complex transactions throughout the day. One of the key focuses of the role will be to ensure that there is a robust control framework within the team and implement best practice efficacy while training the team.
  • You will also be building client relationships through day-to-day processing and contacts.
  • Dealing with various queries from both external and internal clients.
  • Understanding the firm's various systems and inter-dependencies for the most effective usage.
  • Liaison with other divisions such as IT, compliance, or Client Service Team in other offices for problem-solving or meeting client requirements/business needs.
  • You will also be involved in New Product assessment and implementation.

Key responsibilities:

- Communication: Excellent communication skills are required both internally and externally to work with a variety of stakeholders.
- Language: Japanese is a must, and English is essential.
- PC skill: Must be PC literate. Excel and Word skills are required.
- At least 4 years’ relevant experience is generally expected to find the skills required for this role.
