The DAAA Volunteer Coordinator leads, engages and recruits volunteers for special projects, community events, and our historic grassroots program honoring older adults with a hot holiday meal on Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter and Labor Day. The Volunteer Coordinator is an adaptable to change, creative, resilient, and self-motivated, servant leader focused on enhancing the lives of older adults in our region. This position coordinates roughly 800+ volunteers and over 70 community events annually and is connected to all the communities we serve. This role also understands the value of nurturing relationships within our region and the communities we serve. The Volunteer Coordinator supports community outreach activities and events that build on and enhance our partnerships and markets DAAA programs and services. Committed to educating the community about resources for older adults while also increasing access to information and benefits. Works directly with the community to promote Detroit Area Agency on Agings mission, vision and brand all while celebrating older adults.
