We are seeking a skilled Lead Mechanical Engineer with expertise in mechanical and electro-mechanical systems. This role requires a strong technical background in hardware assembly, system-level testing, and advanced manufacturing techniques. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in prototyping, 3D CAD modelling, and an in-depth understanding of material science and manufacturing drawings.

Key Responsibilities

  • 3D Printing & Prototyping: Lead the design and development of prototypes using advanced 3D printing technologies such as CNC machining, PCB printing, 3D printing, and laser cutting and additive manufacturing . Select appropriate materials and optimize print settings to achieve desired mechanical properties and surface finishes. Evaluate, troubleshoot, and maintain 3D printers and related equipment for maximum performance and output quality.
  • Assembly & Fabrication: Responsible for the assembly and fabrication of mechanical components, ensuring high precision and quality in the final products. Collaborate with the design and engineering teams to review manufacturing processes, assembly techniques, and production workflows. Implement and optimize fabrication methods to improve product performance and reduce manufacturing lead times.
  • Mechanical & Electro-Mechanical Systems: Design, develop, and maintain electro-mechanical systems, including motors, actuators, sensors, and other components.
  • Technical Documentation: Create and interpret technical documentation, including manufacturing drawings, specifications, and 3D CAD models.
  • Material Science Expertise: Apply advanced knowledge of plastics and material science to optimize product design and manufacturing processes, ensuring durability and cost efficiency.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with design, engineering, and production teams to ensure that all mechanical and electro-mechanical systems meet the desired performance and quality standards.
  • Continuous Improvement: Implement best practices for process improvement, reducing time to market, and optimizing production methods.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering , Manufacturing Engineering , or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in mechanical manufacturing , with a focus on 3D printing , prototyping , fabrication , and assembly .
  • Proven experience in additive manufacturing processes and understanding of various 3D printing technologies (FDM, SLA, SLS, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience with prototyping techniques , tooling , and fixture design .
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).
  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical assembly processes, material selection, and fabrication techniques.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing standards , tolerances , and quality control practices.
  • Experience in interpreting and generating engineering drawings and manufacturing documentation .
  • Material Science: In-depth understanding of plastics, metals, and composites, and their application in product design and manufacturing.
  • Problem-Solving Ability: Proven ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electro-mechanical systems.
