Location: Hybrid, 1-2 Days a week in Reston VA

As a technical expert, you will apply the necessary technical breadth and depth to drive successful cloud solution offerings and raise the overall technical capabilities of clients. You will design, engineer, and optimize current and/or emerging technologies for the cloud, acting as a technology thought leader for our clients. You must be a solid technologist with strong business and architecture acumen who is comfortable working with both technical teams and client business users. You should bring energy and enthusiasm to the job, embodying a flexible, resourceful, figure-it-out-and-get-it-done mentality. Excellent listening and collaboration skills are essential, along with the ability to map business needs to technology solutions and help non-technical audiences understand the benefits of these solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Architect and engineer various Cloud Architectures utilizing best-in-class technologies that will address evolving customer needs and support integration of enhancements to the infrastructure.
• Serve as Cloud Subject Matter Expert while driving pilots/proofs of concept.
• Direct and participate in high-level enterprise architecture analysis, evaluation, design, integration, documentation, and development.
• Apply high-level business and technical principles and methods to complex technical problems to arrive at creative engineering solutions.
• Provide guidance on the full life cycle of cloud-based solutions, including tools, technologies, and best practices for development, deployment, and maintenance of cloud-hosted services.
• Evaluate and understand emerging technologies and trends for high-performance distributed computing within cloud infrastructures.
• Design architecture with AWS native services (e.g., AWS EC2, AWS S3, AWS RDS, AWS CloudFront, AWS Lambda, CloudWatch, etc.) and share best-practice knowledge with peers.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree required. Advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum seven years of experience in cloud architecture, cloud solution design, and cloud solution implementation.
• Minimum of five years of experience with AWS, Azure, or other Cloud providers.
• 3+ years of hands-on software development, DevOps engineering, systems administration, or systems architecture.
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional certification.
• Familiarity with industry compliance and security standards including PCI DSS, SOC-1&2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, GxP, FISMA, FEDRAMP, and FDA.
• Experience with IT compliance and risk management requirements (e.g., security, privacy, SOX, HIPAA, etc.).
• Experience writing software or scripts in one of the following programming languages: C#, Java, JavaScript, Python, PowerShell, C++, Scala, with fluency in scripting automation for data extraction, monitoring, and bootstrapping.
• Experience with designing and building architecture frameworks across one or more of the following domains: Cloud migration, open data, micro-services, mobile, user engagement or experience, service interdependencies, and security or risk management.
• Architect and deploy security-conscious infrastructure within AWS.
• Experience using and creating custom scripts and applications using the AWS SDK and/or CLI Tools.
• Knowledgeable in back-end system design and scalability, including application servers, database servers, hosting, load-balancing, caching, and layered network defense.
• Design and implement reliable, resilient, and cost-effective cloud infrastructures and solutions.
• Hands-on experience building, delivering, and managing cloud IaaS environments using platforms such as AWS, OpenStack, Rackspace, Google Cloud, Eucalyptus, VMWare, and other cloud providers.
• Experience with Enterprise Architecture Frameworks and identifying relationships between business services, information, applications, and global infrastructure assets.
• Demonstrate the capacity to deploy complex infrastructure using CloudFormation and Terraform or other cloud automation tools.
• Demonstrate experience in creating complex IAM policies for delegated administration within AWS.
• Proven experience with software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile/iterative methodologies.
• Excellent planning skills in both tactical and strategic planning.
• Excellent presentation skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with C-level executives, IT Management, and developers.
• Experience working on multiple concurrent projects, with the ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly.
• Strong self-motivation and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
