Custom Orthosis Fitter

Job Summary

• Evaluate, measure, cast, design, and fit custom-made lower extremity, upper extremity, and spinal orthoses
• Assess patient's condition and determine needed treatment
• Communicate with prescribing physician to clarify expectations for orthosis
• Formulate comprehensive treatment plan based on input from prescribing physician, patient, family, therapist, and other rehabilitation team members
• Select appropriate prefabricated orthosis or design custom orthosis
• Measure, fit, and adjust orthoses as necessary
• Provide instruction to patient and family on proper use and care of orthosis
• Provide follow-up care after fitting to ensure successful treatment outcomes
• Troubleshoot, repair, and adjust orthoses as required

Position Details

• Hours: 8am-4:30pm
• Travel: Less than 25%
• Required Certification: Certified Orthotist- American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics, and Pedorthics (ABCOP)
• Hiring Incentive: $10K recruitment forgivable loan with 24 month work commitment

Education and Experience

• Education: Bachelor's Degree (Required)
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year in Managerial/Supervisory role, Minimum of 5 years related work experience
• Certification and License: Certified Orthotist - American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics and Pedorthics, Inc. (ABCOP)
