McMillan Electric is a privately held company established in 1976. We manufacture millions of motors and motor products for customers throughout North America. We partner with OEM customers to provide custom solutions for use in air moving, pump and compressor, HVAC, and fitness industries.
Job Summary
The Electronics Technician is responsible for troubleshooting electronically controlled motors. This will involve building, testing, and verifying new motors and controls, conducting application testing, operating various measurement and electrical test equipment.
Job Functions

  • Process new motor requests from concept to customer submittal.
  • Perform measurement and analytical testing with a wide range of laboratory equipment, including; sound meter, oscilloscope, stroboscope, magtrol computerized dynamometer, and Fluke data collector.
  • Prepare and present technical test reports, such as a computerized speed/torque curve, noise analysis, environmental testing (temperature & humidity).
Qualifications
  • Associates degree in an electronics related discipline or a minimum of 3 years work-related experience in an electronics field.
  • Demonstrate problem solving skills, scientific principles, and creativity to troubleshoot and resolve problems to an electronic component level.
  • Strong communication and project management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of electric motors, electronic circuits, microprocessor chips and their programming.
  • Experience with Labview and PLCs.
  • Possesses strong soldering skills and understanding of IPC standards.
