As a Cruise Director, you will play an essential part in leading the daily onboard operation and execution of the entertainment product and services for Disney Cruise Line. You are a member of the ship Steering Committee and serve as the "General Manager" for onboard Entertainment providing oversight for all Entertainment content including but not limited to stage shows, deck parties, port adventures and recreation, characters, family and adult offerings, youth activities, and special events, ensuring consistent delivery of all experiences.

You will report to the Captain and Shore Side Executive Director, Entertainment Operations.

Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with internal and external partners and departments to define a clear vision for onboard Entertainment, establishing strategic and operational goals.
2. Translate and integrate the vision into strategic operating plans focused on innovation and continuous process improvements.
3. Drive enhanced Guest and Crew experiences.
4. Direct all Guest events and onboard entertainment.
5. Ensure daily schedule of events onboard and ashore in ports of call proceed as scheduled.
6. Evaluate show quality and brand integrity, providing recommendations for future planning.
7. Communicate safety and guest information through ship-wide announcements.
8. Oversee execution and daily delivery of Guest service.
9. Develop a world-class onboard Entertainment Operations team.
10. Lead effective and decision-oriented department meetings.
11. Support and champion safety initiatives across all entertainment lines of business.
12. Oversee and manage financial profit and operating expenses.
13. Partner with shore side Entertainment/Port Adventures Operations Leadership.
14. Provide support for new itineraries by analyzing previous practice.
15. Partner with Human Resources and Labor Management on managing personnel files.
16. Partner with Marketing/Promotions and onboard departments to plan special events.

Basic Qualifications:

1. Minimum eight or more years’ experience in hosting, stage experience, and public speaking skills.
2. Minimum of eight years’ experience in a senior leadership role.
3. Previous ship operations experience in the role of Cruise Director or similar.
4. Operational experience with an understanding of Crew/Entertainer challenges.
5. Leadership experience including coaching and mentoring skills.
6. Experience integrating the Entertainment experience with multiple lines of business.
7. Solid knowledge of Entertainment Operations business procedures.
8. Passion for character and show integrity that supports the Disney Brand.
9. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
10. Demonstrated strong negotiation, delegation, and partnering skills.
11. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced work environment.

You must:

1. Be genuinely interested in a career at sea and willing to live and work onboard a Disney Cruise Line vessel.
2. Be willing to follow and perform safety role and emergency responsibilities.
3. Have a valid passport and C1/D Seaman's visa.
4. Complete a pre-employment medical.
5. Obtain a criminal background check.
