Summary: As the head of IT at LDF Companies, you will be responsible for leading our IT department, ensuring the smooth operation of all information technology systems and infrastructure. Your role will be pivotal in driving technological innovation, supporting business operations, and aligning IT strategies with the overall organizational goals. This role is both a leadership and a transactional position and will be a business partner to the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership:
    • Develop and implement IT strategies that align with the company's objectives and drive business outcomes.
    • Provide leadership to the IT department, guiding team members in achieving departmental and organizational goals.
  • Infrastructure Management:

    • Oversee the management and maintenance of all IT infrastructure including networks, servers, security systems, and telecommunications.
    • Ensure the availability, reliability, and scalability of IT systems to meet current and future organizational needs.
  • Security and Compliance:

    • Implement and maintain robust cybersecurity measures to protect the organization's data, networks, and systems from security breaches and cyber threats.
    • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards in IT operations and data management.
  • Project Management:

    • Lead IT projects from inception to completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
    • Collaborate with other departments to understand their IT needs and provide solutions that enhance operational efficiency.
  • Vendor Management:

    • Manage relationships with IT vendors, service providers, and consultants to ensure the organization receives competitive pricing and quality service.
    • Negotiate contracts and service agreements and oversee vendor performance to ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met.

Work Environment:

This job operates in both a professional office and a warehouse/distributor environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers/phones and is also involved in warehouse/distribution technology.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Lifting and Carrying: The IT Manager may need to lift and carry equipment such as computer servers, networking hardware, or printers, typically weighing between 10 to 50 pounds (4.5 to 23 kg). Occasionally, heavier equipment may need to be handled with assistance or appropriate tools.
  • Manual Handling: Tasks may involve moving or adjusting hardware components or cables, which can require moderate physical effort and dexterity.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This full-time position typically works Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m with occasional after-office or weekend hours. The ability to be on call for this role will be an important function of the job which can allow for flexibility throughout the week.

Travel:

Occasional travel is expected.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.

Proven experience in an IT management role, with a track record of leading IT teams and implementing successful IT strategies.

In-depth knowledge of IT infrastructure and systems, cybersecurity, cloud technologies, and emerging IT trends including Artificial Intelligence.

Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization.

Knowledge of networking protocols, hardware, and technologies (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, routers, switches).

Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud platforms.

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions that align with organizational goals.

Proficiency in operating systems (Windows), productivity suites (Microsoft Office, G Suite), and troubleshooting tools.
