Advocate

Status: Full-Time Hourly FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt
Summary of the Position: Hourly, Full-Time position serving youth and families throughout Los Angeles are available.

• Applicant must be dependable, committed, and able to serve as a positive role model for youth in the community, school, and home settings.

• The Primary responsibilities of the Advocate are to initiate, organize, plan, develop and implement direct advocacy services to assigned participants and their families.
  • Provide individualized advocacy and support services to youth in need
  • Help develop and implement programs and initiatives that address the unique needs of young people
  • Collaborate with community organizations and stakeholders to promote positive youth development
  • Assist in organizing and facilitating workshops, events, and activities for young people
  • Conduct outreach to ensure that our services are accessible to all youth in the community
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all interactions and activities
• All service plans will be based on a strength-based approach using the wrap around model.

This position offers flexible hours, competitive weekly pay, and activity reimbursement.
Annual Salary: $45,760
Qualifications/Requirements: A minimum High School Diploma or GED is required.

• Experience in community work and familiarity of community resources and services available
• Previous experience working with youth in a mentoring, or advocacy capacity.
• Knowledge of youth development principle and trauma-informed care.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Proficient computer knowledge and case management databases
