Sales Tax Specialist
Objective:
Maintain sales tax exemption certificates in business system to effectively/accurately apply sales tax to sales orders. Assist with sales tax audits as needed. This position will also be responsible for research to answer questions regarding sales tax.
Responsibilities:

• Responsible for collecting, validating, and maintaining customer sales and use tax exemption certificates
• Process any credit/rebills required to correct customer invoices
• Assist with sales tax audits
• Assist with implementing controls to reduce company exposure
• Work closely and directly with customers to resolve sales tax issues
• Assist Accounts Receivable with customer service as needed
• Respond to customer requests for sales tax refunds
• Assist with special projects as needed

Qualifications:

• Requires Associate's degree in Accounting or Business
• Minimum 3 years' experience in sales and use tax
  • Exposure to federal and state income tax is a plus
• Knowledge of sales/use tax in multiple states required
• Experience with tax research software, Avalara preferred
• Must have basic computer (Microsoft Office) and data entry/typing experience (35-45WPM)
• Basic understanding of Accounting Concepts required
• Experience with Prophet 21 Business Software is helpful, but not required
• Experience with SalesForce preferred
• Self-motivated and continuously focusing on process improvements
