More and more people are turning to No-Code to build the software they need. Since our launch in 2021, we have helped over 50,000 users build their backend using Xano. Our CTO was the original DevOps for Google Photos and built an architecture that organizations of all sizes trust and rely on to grow their businesses. Looking ahead, we’re seeking a seasoned full-stack computer scientist who will work alongside our CTO to lead our engineering team.

Who we’re looking for:

A technologist with a growth mindset looking to have an impact in the No-Code space to empower the next generation of software builders. The Engineering Manager plays a leadership role in the engineering department where they seek excellence in all engineering disciplines inclusive of front-end and backend technologies, data processing, quality assurance, application development, analytics, machine learning, algorithms, and data warehousing.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Individually contribute to the team tactically, while gaining respect from the team to be a reliable last line of defense tackle challenges.
  • Cultivate a winning team culture across a globally distributed workforce.
  • Lead engineering standups and the release process.
  • Guide our development team to make sound architectural decisions and create an environment where technical innovation thrives.
  • Prioritize execution and support the Engineering team in delivering high-quality results.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional peers, such as Product and Design, to set goals and define business strategy.
  • Drive goal-setting with the Engineering team and hold them accountable for results.
  • Continually improve processes to increase the effectiveness of the Engineering team.
  • Scale your organization by partnering with our Head of People to attract and retain top talent.
  • Advocate for your team, emphasizing career growth and personal development.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2+ years in a Sr. level role: Most qualified candidates will be a current staff/principal engineer, tech lead or manager (this role will require you to develop and launch your own features). Prior experience mentoring a team is a plus and will lend to one's success in this role.
  • Extensive technical experience across the entire stack: Experience developing internal design systems, accessibility features, frontend web infrastructure, and designing and advocating for coding standards and best practices within a globally distributed engineering organization.
  • Has led or been part of an engineering organization that develops highly technical solutions: Has a comprehensive understanding of the backend, but also understands the dynamics of website publishing, DOM rendering, CSS style guides, and API libraries.
  • Experience leading teams with modern web technology stacks: Here's the tech stack we use: Angular, PHP, NodeJS, PostgreSQL, Redis, Docker, Cloud Storage, Kubernetes and Terraform.
  • Has rapidly scaled teams and knows how to develop and execute a sustainable growth strategy.
  • Can strategically help build a team that aligns with company goals.
  • Aptitude for learning: Has an insatiable desire and aptitude for learning programming concepts and a technical product.
  • Detail and results-oriented: You're a detail-oriented project manager who not only builds the strategy for projects such as product launches and content initiatives but also works across the organization to get it done.
  • Have a customer-first mentality: Have a solid understanding of how to empathize with the customer, understand their pain, and sell them Xano as a solution if it can truly help them.
  • Enthusiastic and Team-oriented: Exhibits passion and excitement over work. Has a can-do attitude and can work collaboratively with a small team to come up with thoughtful solutions.
  • Work ethic: Possesses a strong willingness to do what it takes to get the job done.
  • High standards: Holds themselves and their team to the highest standards of excellence and expects performance to be nothing short of the best.
  • Flexible and adaptable: Can adjust quickly to changing priorities and complex challenges.
  • (PLUS) Has Basic knowledge of the No-Code industry: We are the leading No-Code Backend platform that connects to a wide variety of No-Code Front-ends. Having a basic understanding of the landscape would lend to this person’s success.
