Purpose:
The Maintenance Planner reviews customer requirements, constructs bid estimates and develops workflow plans and production schedules in coordination with Operations.

Essential Job Functions:

1. Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, Quality and Operations to plan and schedule maintenance and modification/completions work packages based on customer requirements coupled with market competitive timelines with available resources to ensure minimal project span times.
2. Independently compile data, including estimates of labor and materials to create accurate, aggressive, and executable project bids.
3. Adept at determining a project's critical path down to the task level and preparing task-by-task and day-by-day workflow packages.
4. Adept at navigating through AMMs, Drawing Packages, AD/SB/SL, IPCs and MPDs. Experience with Boeing and Airbus technical data/reference web portals is desired.
5. Plan and coordinate materials required for projects with Engineering, Purchasing and Logistics to ensure materials can/will be available as planned in a project timeline flow.
6. Plan project workloads and required skills, conduct pre-dock, post-dock, and planning meetings.
7. Research MPDs/customer RFP/Q packages and other OEM/FAA requirements for relevant maintenance task requirements and their inclusion based on Work scope.
8. Assist with completing bid estimates, coordinating with Operations personnel, as well as procurement, potential suppliers and vendors.
9. Enter and manage data within the company’s Enterprise Resource Planning system, including libraries of canned tasks and materials to be used in current and future bid packages.
10. Support senior management staff with other tasks as required.

Minimum Qualifications or Experience:

1. Minimum of five (5) years experience in aircraft maintenance, completions modification, repair and/or overhaul, including experience in Planning, Scheduling, Documentation and/or Project Management.
2. Highly proficient at researching and deciphering AD, SB, maintenance manuals, task card requirements with correct effectivity codes and accurately estimating labor hours for job tasks.
3. Familiarity with FAR Part 145 repair station, Part 121/135 airline and/or aircraft Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) policies and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications or Experience:

1. Undergraduate degree or commensurate experience in a related field.
2. Project Management certification a plus. Desired Valid mechanic certificate with A&P ratings; experience on large body Boeing and Airbus aircraft is a plus.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Knowledge, Skills, and Other Attributes:

1. Highly proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Project, PowerPoint and Word.
2. Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with all levels of staff from various departments.
3. Highly Desired: Prior experience with Corridor aviation maintenance software.

Travel:

Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel is to be expected for business industry work, events and occasional business networking and negotiation meetings.

Working Conditions:

This position is considered OFFICE WORK. Requires frequent walking, standing and/or climbing. Are expected to work through specially designed airframe, engine and undercarriage openings while standing on ladders or scaffolds; to use hoists and lifts; required precision instruments and other necessary tools. Exposure to climate changes is normally experienced in an aviation repair facility.
