Job Summary
This role is responsible for impacting the cost of quality improvements throughout AMF Bakery Systems, USL. As such, they oversee all aspects of quality, encompassing both the quality management system and process/product quality management. As the Quality Manager, you will lead the implementation and management of the quality management system, which includes developing work instructions, running internal audit programs, and managing supplier quality. Your primary goal is improving process performance and stability by effectively applying process quality management practices and statistical process control techniques.
Responsibilities
Include, but not limited to:
  • Establish & lead the deployment of the AMF Quality Management System with the purpose of improving process performance & stability.
  • Lead significant projects critical to improving manufacturing process capability & quality performance.
  • Establish the initial development of quality measurable KPI metrics, drive quality initiatives, and be the primary point of contact with internal stakeholders
  • Coach and mentor manufacturing leaders to develop their problem-solving skills and capabilities by utilizing tools such as 5 Why, PDCA, A3, etc.
  • Identify and resolve product and program quality gaps, including, as necessary, the final disposition of product and quality records and review of product certification and customer-required documentation
  • Develop and supervise audit program to monitor internal & external performance and support efforts to develop and implement changes to improve the production process
  • Provide trending analysis on quality and performance metrics
  • Reduce the cost of poor quality through the reduction of internal & external failure modes, risk mitigation, and coaching teams.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience successfully leading manufacturing process improvement, including deploying Process Management and Statistical Methods in a user-friendly manner to manufacturing operation personnel
  • A highly quantitative self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and seeks ownership of quality initiatives from start to finish
  • Strong mathematics & statistical capability with experience problem solving & coaching teams
  • Displays exceptional customer service, problem-solving, attention to detail, and workload prioritization and organization.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • BS, or equivalent, in a technical discipline such as Engineering, Mathematics, or Science
  • 5 -10 Years of work experience leading manufacturing process improvement and cross-functional experience
  • Six Sigma blackbelt or CQE is preferred
  • Critical thinker, excellent problem-solving skills, and continuous improvement mindset.
  • Significant global exposure with durable goods manufacturing
  • 10% Travel Requirement
