Under general direction, explains rules, regulations and procedures regarding licensure processes and assists with problem solving and providing solutions to improve complex licensure processes. The position will also answer phones, maintain files, and perform general clerical functions. Exercises initiative and judgment in the performance of duties. Evaluates documents for licenses or registrations to determine approval for requirements according to rules and regulations, statutes and program policy and procedures. Monitors licensure processes and activities and assists with resolving technical program issues. Prepares letters, correspondence, emails, or legal documents.Supports Division license programsPrepares letters, correspondence, emails, or legal documents.Develops complex and multi-program (database, spreadsheet, and word processing) record reports for responses to Freedom of information requests, legal fines, daily fees, and monthly performance results.Serves as supplemental support lo the Division's main reception desk (including opening Division's mail, answering, and routing calls from the general public to the appropriate program or sections).Performs other duties as required or assigned, which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.Minimum QualificationsRequires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to two (2) years of secretarial/business college and one (1) year of office experience or completion of high school and three (3) years of office experience or three (3) years of independent business experience.Requires ability to type accurately at 30 words per minute.About the AgencyThe Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) is tasked with the oversight of communities within Illinois to achieve and maintain optimal health and safety.
