**Job Title:** Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
**Job Specialty:** Operating Room (OR)
**Job Duration:** 13 weeks
**Shift:** Days - 3x12-hour shifts (07:00 - 19:30)
- On-call: 4-6 calls within a 6-week schedule (30-min response required)
- Weekends: 4-6 weekend shifts within a 6-week schedule (could be scheduled day, evening, or night shift hours)
- Holidays as per department needs

**Experience:** Minimum 2 years required; Must have experience in multi-specialties, especially Orthopedics, Robotics, ENT, Gynecology, Vascular, Thoracic & General; Level 1 trauma experience required
**License:** Certification as Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting
**Certifications:** CST by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) ONLY; BLS Required
**Must-Have:** Candidates must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or have an approved medical/religious exemption; Able to care for COVID patients; Experience with multi-specialties and Level 1 trauma
**Job Description:**
- Work with the surgical team, including Surgeons, Anesthesiologists, and Registered Nurses, to deliver direct patient care before, during, and after surgery.
- Utilize appropriate physician preference cards and anticipate supplies/equipment needed.
- Prepare room supplies according to operative procedure.
- Assist with moving, positioning, preparing, and draping patients.
- Apply and utilize special equipment safely.
- Maintain aseptic technique.
- Assist with obtaining specimens and ensure proper preparation and handling.
- Perform correct counts according to policies and adjust rapidly to the instrument needs of the surgeon.
- Assist in maintaining instruments and supplies by ensuring proper care, cleaning, and sterilization.
- Keep good interpersonal skills and perform all tasks in a safe and efficient manner according to hospital policies and procedures.
- Participate in educational programs to maintain knowledge and clinical skills.
- Handle physical and mental demands, including frequent lifting, pushing, bending, and rapid response during emergencies.
- Work in a sterile environment with exposure to bodily fluids, anesthetics, radiation, and disinfectants.
- Demonstrate core values of integrity, compassion, excellence, and service.
- Adhere to safety awareness, confidentiality, and leadership standards.
- Maintain a professional demeanor and demonstrate service excellence in patient and family-centered care.
