POSITION PURPOSE:
Plan, organize and control the delivery of Mental Health Services by the CMHC. Supervise, coordinate and appropriately delegate professional and administrative functions of the Community Mental Health Center. Develop, interpret and assure compliance with CHI Policies and Procedures.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience:
Graduate from an accredited College or University with a minimum of a Master Degree in Behavioral Science or related field. Minimum of five (5) years experience in the Behavioral Health care field; and three (3) years in administration of Mental Health Program. Experience working with culturally diverse clients. Knowledge regarding the Joint Commission and Regulatory Agency requirements.
Licensure / Certification:
CPR Certification from the American Heart Association. License as appropriate to professional degree.
Skills / Ability:
Considerable knowledge of all aspects of CMHC program management and development.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES (THIS IS AN EXEMPT POSITION):
- The incumbent serves at the pleasure of the President/CEO.
- Coordinate with CHI’s Vice-President for Satellite Services and Nursing in the integration of the Behavioral Health Services activities within CHI’s integrative Health Care System.
- Participate in CHI’s Professional Administrative Committees.
- Member of CHI’s continuous Performance Improvement Committees.
- Maintain liaison with other area social service agencies, participate on area councils and professional organizations to promote coordinated efficient delivery of Behavioral Health Services.
- Work closely with the State Department of Children and Families and all other funding sources to assure adequate funding, develop contracts, meet reporting requirements and maintain program’s compliance with funding sources’ regulation.
- Attend and participate at CHI Board of Directors Meetings and all relevant subcommittee meetings.
- Advise the Behavioral Health Committee and CHI’s President/CEO of all relevant issues related to the planning, organization and development of the Behavioral Health Services.
- Coordination of professional aspects of the CHI Accreditation Program.
- Serve as Chairperson of the Behavioral Health Services and CHI Performance Improvement Program.
- Administrative and Clinical Management of Special Projects (i.e. grants, contracts and memorandum of agreements).
- Provides management and supervision of the Crisis Stabilization Unit.
- Reports to work on time and ready to work with minimal absenteeism.
- Adheres to Confidentiality Policies and Procedures / HIPAA Regulations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
