The Headlines:
In the role of Risk and Insurance Manager , working in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, you will be part of the Americas Legal and Government Affairs team. You will be a key team member in the company's risk management and insurance functions.
This position reports to the Senior Manager – Risk and Insurance and works closely with brokers, insurers and third-party service providers and are a strategic partner to internal stakeholders including but not limited to Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS), Legal, Finance, Procurement and functional leaders.
The Responsibilities:
- Most importantly, you will lead a talented colleague (Risk and Insurance Specialist) and support their growth and development through career discussions and consistent one on one conversations. You will provide oversight to their work product, including certificates of insurance, surety bonds, and policy audits.
- Builds and maintains strong processes to ensure best practices.
- Provides critical thought-leadership and support on insurance procurement and renewal strategies. Manages collection, organization, and analysis of exposure data and submissions working directly with key stakeholders. Identifies and distributes each business unit’s cost of risk accurately and equitably, utilizing proper data inputs and allocation methodology.
- Leads the insurance policy maintenance program, which includes front-line responsibility for policy audits, ensures renewal policies are complete and accurate, and identifies and requests issues change requests.
- Establishes and maintains strong relationships with EH&S, Legal, Fleet Management, Sales/Marketing & Events, Procurement, and Engineering Teams to drive results and minimize total cost of risk. Provides consultative direction to business units relating to risk management matters, risk exposures, and training resources.
- Responsible for supporting capital projects and M&A activity with risk and exposure analysis and making recommendations for specialty insurance placements.
- Determines and evaluates risk in contracts and other documents. Recommends and advises on risk transfer through insurance or other methods so that the company does not unnecessarily assume the risk of others. Strong technical knowledge of contract insurance requirements, liabilities, and indemnifications as pertains to service, goods, agency, sponsorship and construction agreements.
The Other Qualifications:
- You have a bachelor’s degree in business or risk management OR equivalent experience (5+ years) from a broker, insurer or company in the field of corporate risk and insurance.
- You have broad-based knowledge of corporate risk management, including property & casualty insurance policies/coverage, finance, and the ability to manage and lead risk exposure efforts.
