Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Finance Manager to be a key partner supporting our Global Services business. We are looking for an entrepreneurial, analytical, creative, flexible finance leader to help us redefine the tech industry. As a Finance Manager, you will work side by side with business and finance leaders leveraging your team to develop business strategies, financial models, and analytical insights while establishing the processes and mechanisms necessary to deliver work efficiently.

The successful candidate will be strategic, analytical, and have a demonstrated ability to influence the decisions of senior business leaders through effective verbal and written communication, financial analyses, logical reasoning, and the presentation of alternatives. The role operates in a global, results-oriented environment and will provide decision support and advice for key business leaders.

Key job responsibilities

  1. Drive alignment across Senior leadership and various finance groups including Services, Infra and SMGS on GS investments.
  2. Provide strategic support to key business initiatives and investment.
  3. Play a critical role in cost management, controllership, business case development, decision-making, and metrics development.
  4. Identify financial improvements, deep dive on investments, with a keen eye on scaling for future growth and improving our customer experience.
  5. Develop new performance metrics and rhythm of the business processes to drive accountability and controllership.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science), or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience.
- 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience.
- MBA, or CPA.
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards).
- Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results.
- Knowledge of SQL/ETL.
- 6+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience.
- 6+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience.
- 6+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience.
- 6+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience.
