Relief Valve Mid/ Sr. Process Engineer

Burrow Global is seeking a Relief Valve Mid/ Sr. Process Engineer for our Deer Park Office. At Burrow Global, the Process Engineer is pivotal in supporting all project phases, strongly emphasizing front-end engineering and detailed design support. As a supporting process engineer, you will be assigned to projects and tasked with ensuring seamless coordination and effective communication among various engineering disciplines and our valued clients.

Regrettably, candidates must be legally eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship or in need of future sponsorship. This position requires on-site presence, but unfortunately, relocation assistance is unavailable.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform all aspects of process engineering assignments requiring knowledge and application of chemical engineering principles.
  • Perform an audit relief valve design, calculations, evaluations, and mitigations. You'll need to experience with relief valve selection. Identify relief scenarios, size relief valves, and header sizing.
  • Experience reviewing and utilizing existing unit heat and material balance, process flow diagrams (PFDs), process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), preparation of process data sheets, equipment sizing, hydraulics line sizing, and supplemental diagrams for process systems.
  • Utilize computer-based technology for process simulation and equipment design to achieve the process design work as required by the project scope.
  • Technical review of vendor offers and documentation specific to relief valves and relief devices.
  • Complete assigned design work per the agreed budget and schedule.
  • Be familiar with the work process and quality policy and apply as appropriate to each project.
  • Document all calculations and work processes in a clear, concise format.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • S. Chemical Engineering
  • Experience with Aspen Plus, Aspen HYSYS, Flare System Analyzer.
  • Specific experience with process safety valve sizing, relief system design, and auditing.
  • Knowledge of API 520 and 521 standards
  • Knowledge of API 2000 standard.
  • Candidates should have 2+ years of engineering experience with an operating or contract engineering company.
  • At least one year of experience with relief valve calculations is preferred.
