Sr. Accountant - CPA - Secret Clearance required
Must have DoD or DON (Department of the Navy) financial management experience
Clearance: Current and Active Secret Clearance required.
Certifications: CPA or CDFM
Location: On Site Arlington, VA
5-10+ years of experience in DoD or Department of the Navy (DON) financial management with a focus on budget execution and impact of budget execution on budgets
Strong working experience in analyzing Journal Vouchers (JVs) and working closely with the Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS) to review and prepare JV packages for approval
JV analysis to emphasize impact to remaining budgets of the DON secretariat business unit (BSO-12)
Analysis of dormant transactions (e.g., DARQ), accruals, disbursement schedules to include predictive capability to determine remaining budgets at period end (monthly, quarterly, and fiscal year end)
Ability to leverage OSDs ADVANA platform and the Navy's ADVANA surrogate platform JUPITER to analyze accounting transactions and accounting abnormalities that need to be address in ADVANA, in the Navy's General Ledger Systems (SABRS, DAI and NERP) and in close coordination with DFAS
Working knowledge and expertise in reconciling DON Trial Balances, working closely with the Defense Departmental reporting System and PBIS.
Extensive Experience with Fund Balance with Treasury (FBWT) reconciliations
CDFM but CPA is preferred
Secret Clearance given that the work will be in the Pentagon (onsite)
